We did the MURPH at our compound and there was an intel Marine CPT like that... she crushed the whole thing in her IOTV. I was impressed

Probably the coolest guy I have ever met was a Capt I had that was a Navel Academy guy. Dude was a surfer, had tons of toys. Dated the hottest women we had ever seen but was super chill. Would hang with us, come to our parties and we called him Shark Bate. We always respected him and were professional at work. We accidentally hired a hOOker off of craigslist to be the bartender one of our parties. It took us a little while but then we figured out that she was actually a prostitute so we offered Shark Bate up to her if she would stay and tend bar. He did not know this and at the end of the night she thought she was leaving with him. The next Monday we got to work and he was like "dude she was a hOOker"! We laughed and said we know dude and you are so out of her league! He ended up going to MARSOC so he could be even more bad ass! I love that guy.

we had one 2nd LT that wasnt too bad looking, always jogging...kept harping on us enlisted folks how we needed to run all the time. We got deployed to the desert and we see her puking behind the tents...we just laughed at her. Guess she had overheated...

When I was a coyote I would sometimes be lead trace on range 400. The training company would always put some 300 PFT jock in the front. I would cruse up not in the same shape as I was when I was in the fleet. I would always ask "what was your last PFT score" I always got "300" I would be like, okay cool. As soon as the first explosion would go off kicking off the range I would say "lay down, you are dead. Enemy sniper fire." #2 was always a slob so I could just walk down the range. I was a dick!

That’s awesome. I remember hiking out from Camp Wilson to range 400 cause our CO was a fucking motivater. Thats how our boot lost his Kevlar lol. The coyotes were always awesome though.

Yeah we used to laugh when a company wanted to hump out from Wilson. Being a coyote was a lot of fun too. I used to stash camel-bak's over behind the rock-pile in the deep wash in the cracks in the granite because the guys with 249's would be bone dry by that point. 400 & 410A were always a lot of fun. They would record our coyote radios on range 400 so coyote 6 (Col) would always come on the radio about 10 min before the range kicked off to remind us that the company and battalion would be getting a copy of our traffic. That was always followed by an epic 10 min of cursing and talking shit about the exercise force to get it out of our system. Range 410A had some epic radio traffic!

Absolutely. As a private I had a pretty shitty squad leader that had people clean his weapon, learned a lot about what not to do. Grew up believing the leader kills himself to be in better shape, stays up later, gets up earlier and goes harder then anyone below him.

One of the reasons I retired, fucking hate chicken shit leaders. Even as a squad leader I tried to keep the most dangerous shit for myself. You dismount to patrol away from the vehicle, squad leader goes and a team leader stays back. As a platoon sergeant I had a 1SG like that. In fact the platoon I took over when I pinned SFC had a chicken shit before me. Took my squad leaders a few missions to realize I wasn’t going to sit in the belly of the Stryker and hide like he did. LT runs the mission, PSG runs CASEVAC and keeps situational awareness in case he needs to cut off the LT during a bad decision. Only had to do it a couple times.

God damn close the thread this one speaks so much truth. As a PFC I had a Cpl under me as a team leader. He didn’t know shit except security forces stuff.

one of my supervisors was same E4 rank, just he out ranked by time in service and had a line number for E5 just hadnt put it on yet....always harping on me about stupid stuff. Its like nobody gives a crap about that...next test cycle I made E5. Shortly after that I made E6 and he didnt, he was pissed. Eventhough we were in different bases...Finally I made E7 and he was still an E6...when I retired. LOL. I wouldnt have even cared about his rank but I knew it pissed him off I made it before he did so that always made me laugh.
