I assume you take exception to that. Care to elaborate?

Resale matters for other things. If you total your car insurance isnt gonna care about the 10k in mods you did.

That's the auction price, Leno or some Honda head probably bought that. It's also in impeccable condition.

It's still a 20 year old Civic chasis.

I agree. That's why I bought a pro. I've done a few mods on it but haven't spent thousands of dollars in mods trying to make it a pro. Like someone had mentioned earlier I see a lot of lift kits done that look like the CV shafts are going to break at any minute. The pitch is crazy. Then wonder why they have the problems that they do lol. Certain things such as the lift kit I would much rather buy something that's been tuned to the vehicle. All the geometry woes have been addressed with people who have degrees. Not Carl's Corner on YouTube lmao.

Still really like the off roads though. Not much of a red person but the Barcelona is very nice.

I hated BRM when I was looking online. Bought it in person though. They look much better with the blackout option and a painted bumper. Chrome and BRM do not mix well .

You're not getting the point. Hence my comment "a truck well equipped for anything you throw at it from factory" about the pro. You fall into pro category because you can't or don't want to mod. If you did want to mod the suspension, it would be foolish to buy a pro and add a better suspension because you already paid for an extremely overpriced suspension system that comes with the pro. So you're a person who CAN mod but doesn't want to. You would be a pro guy.
Your comment about the 95% of hack lifts on this site is hilarious :rofl:it's all bolt on suspension components unless you do long travel. Hack job bolt ons

Overpriced suspension? Please don't take no offense but what do you have that's better? King is about the only thing that would be even close to the quality of Fox

How much money is that pro suspension adding to the overall price? Compare that price and performance with a Pro vs what suspension you could get with the money saved by not buying that marked up suspension on the Pro. There's your answer.

Maybe I just got a better deal but looking at the off road I almost bought. The pro only costed me 5k more out the door. But I also got leather and heated seats, cat back exhaust. Also a rear locker which isn't cheap to get added after market. I would say the suspension was maybe half of the cost. Which in that case if you do it yourself you're going to be spending at least a thousand bucks or more to get something that's at least decent. If you're looking to do things on a budget thats certainly fine but to compare it to something that's better is not sound reasoning. You have to understand that not only is it a reputable company they specifically built it around the Tacoma. R&D cost money.

The other day I was looking at adding a subwoofer. Could not see spending nearly a grand for the stealthbox however after thinking on it it's no different it's made specifically for the Tacoma not only is the speaker matched perfectly to the box it's designed to work in the Tacoma only. The fit and finish it's just like it came from the factory that way. It took a few smart people to get the dimensions and everything else that came into play for that to work as it should. You pay for what you get.

When I say hack jobs, I'm referring to people like you. "It bolts right up so it must work, Right!!" Laughable. I'll trust the hundreds of degreed engineers with simulation equipment over your hodgepodge of components any day.

And I've modded and raced cars for years and still do so...I don't want someone else's beat up junk when they're done with it. Thus the reason I would buy a used pro, but not a used, modified Taco.

    Yep...nailed it.

When I was looking at used Tacoma's, I immediately moved on when I saw hacked up dashes with aftermarket radios and speakers. People have no taste. Same goes for aftermarket wheels. Toyota designs round pegs to go in round holes. All the aftermarket companies cram as much crap in that round hole as they can. They'll make it fit. Doesn't make it right.

The Off Road and Pro share the same rear locker along with the same crawl control or A-TRAC System depending if it's Manual or Automatic.

Good to know. For some reason the off-road I was looking at did not have the rear locker. Had everything else minus the leather and heated seats. Oh and cat back.

You had to be looking at a Sport, all Generations of the Off Road Tacoma have always had a Electronic Locker as standard equipment.

I personally don’t see the point for a pro at this point in time. You’re overpaying for that the suspension with massive dealer markup and the only other upgrade is the leather seats..which sucks in California.

It kind of comes down to if you want to leave something stock then go with the pro.

If you want to put any kind of suspension on it then go Offroad.

I went Offroad over pro and stand by my decision.

The "off road" you were looking at must have been a sport, buecause the off road package has locking rear diff.

It is absolutely a personal decision. But to say a pro isn't worth it is silly. There are a lot of different factors to consider, not just suspension costs .

I can build my Mustang to blow the doors off of a Lambo for a fraction of the cost. Doesn't mean I have the better car.

None, finally back in a Taco
Not wanting to get involved in this back and forth at all... too much opinion and spite for trims. However, not to pick you apart at all I am going to say something that matters:

The OR also has the very same locker.

As for the springs you can buy takeoffs for 1k from modding PRO guys on my local tacoma social network.
