What in the actual fucking shit was that shit?

I could tell it wasn't going to end well when he had his door open while reversing.

Maybe he could fix it with a light bar.

I am one of the 97% who voted I can drive a manual effectively, but would never consider buying a manual truck of any kind, not just Tacoma. I prefer my bigger vehicles in auto and have had smaller manual cars like STI and 3 series for the manual driving fun.

Do you change selector when you pop into neutral and back into 6?

Basically when you're ready to get out of 5 you depress clutch put into neutral click the switch to high and then into 6 in one swoop?

No need to use the clutch. Change selector first then move shifter to 6 ,you have to match road speed, trans and engine RPM. It's a bit of an art because there are no synchro' like an automotive tranny. You can also skip gears 2 4 6

And all jokes aside, a lot of people here were around when 5spds were the only option for Toyota pickups, and at some point just don’t want to deal with it anymore. There are an almost infinite number of reasons why someone would choose automatic. Most common being that an individual puts manual trans farther down on the options scale and chooses color and trim first... because it’s not like there were shitloads of manuals on the lots to begin with. Or other family members would be driving it. Or knee problems. Or towing. And for sure manuals are being phased out. An automatic is practical for a family utility vehicle, for a company utility vehicle. Personally I’m going to be very butthurt when I have to retire my clutch leg, it’s probably an inevitability. Because I sure do love rowing through that legendary 5 speed Toyota transmission, revving out and gunning it through turns doing the day to day tasks like going to work. The scene in the cab is cartoonish- engine rpms at 5k, loud ass music, over exaggerated shifting...you would think I was shredding some dirt road at 85 mph. But the scene outside is a quiet little Tacoma going 35 on a paved road. It’s all about the fun you have.

Basically, yes, but if you're good, you can float the gears and not need the clutch. I only used it to get going in 1st, then floated the rest of them...
