Thanks! I will take a look at the Kawaskis.

Oh, Big Orange and the Swedes are calling me, but I'd hurt myself. The 390 is tempting also.

I agree the components are killer, but even then folks will be modding. The resolution is to ride this bike stock, if it ends up being a 450. If it is a 250, I will have to play around.

Isn’t the bed on 1st gen dcsb shorter than on 2nd and 3rd gen dcsb’s? I feel like it was way shorter... not sure though.

15 hour oil changes on my KTM 500. That grew old real quick so I only kept it for a year and a half. Now I have the 690. It's an amazing bike. Plus, oil changes at 3500 miles like a normal machine. I've had 4 KTMs and haven't had a single issue with one yet. But, you are paying a premium price for that orange color.

I don't disagree about the quality. They are beasts.

The main thing that I am looking for is a lightweight, plated enduro. Easy to load and pickup when it take a nap. A friend is going to do the same. The main consideration for the 450 is puttering around torque, not for extreme riding. A 250 would be perfect for displacement and total power. For short highway rides / commutes and offroad rides, we just want some good, accessible torque. Cost is also a big factor for the initial buy-in.

Similar to the Taco being my first truck / 4x4, I've never ridden an MX bike. My Ural was a ton of fun offroad, but not quite the same. :D

I hear you. I live at 8000 feet and ride at 10-12000 mostly. So I would lose 20% power right out of the gate. I'm sure a 250 would do just fine where I live but I also want to go on longer adventure rides again. The 690 fits the bill for me. But, I'm always looking for a cheap 250 to play around with on single track. I's like to take a trip on a ural one day. They just look fun. Crazy russians.

Ural folks are usually more than happy to give you a ride and fly the chair. Those were good times. Never own one though unless you plan on selling it soon afterward.

It has nothing to do with what tax bracket you’re in or how much you make. It has everything to do with how you spend or save your money.

Since buying the Taco under two years ago I've went from sleeping in a ground tent. like a peasant.

To freezing my ass off under a softtopper

To a Smittybilt Roof top tent
    2468FE51-8F30-42DC-9AB8-FF657FFBC318.jpg

To building and "Camping" in my homemade offroad teardop

    11.jpg

I built the teardrop for under $3k and sold it for more than enough to cover the GFC as soon as I heard about it. Definitely worth the build time I had in it.

In a week from tomorrow, I'll have some pics of the GFC setup.

You got some great camping spots!

Your teardrop is still very cool.

And, the Sport rims looks really good when painted. Nice work!

Thank you sir. I definitely have an abundance of amazing camping, riding, and offroading spots out here. But, I deserve it. I spent most of my life living in NYC. Haha

    You're welcome!

Say no more! I feel some of your pain while only living in suburbia. All the hassle of a city and people without the benefits of being close to everything.

Exactly. I hope to never go back to that life. In fact I'm trying to convert to more of the hermit life. City people will do that to you.
