Nonsense. Different exit, different direction, different time, different truck...What's confusing about that?

Question for you guys. The 4runner shifter seems hard to shift these past few days. To be clear, the physical shifter itself, not shifting from 1st-2nd etc...

Its very stiff, and takes a fair bit more pressure to move it. No added noise though and car drives fine. Anyone got any ideas, or should I take it in?

And you have a softtopper, not a bedrack.

Cable binding? Some ice or crud up there impeding the shift arm on the transmission?

It could, would the best way to check that out be under the car, or pulling out the trim around the shifter?

EDIT: I pulled apart the shifter from inside, nothing in there to clog it up, everything looks pretty good.

Read that to my wife and she was not happy. She loves that fucking 4runner. I like it too but it's the first nicer car she's ever had and even tho they are sorta basic, she can't get over it. Although maybe if it was a serious problem I could talk to her into a new pro, she has been asking about how to get hers a couple inches higher for a better stance

2016, only 46k on it, no one is in a rush to get rid of it. At least for another 80-100k.

Hey guys. I might be selling my soft topper off of my 2017 Tacoma double cab short bed. I’m just trying to see if there’s any interest on it. I might be going to a hard top soon. I paid 830 bucks for a year and a half ago. It’s just been sitting in my garage for the past couple of months since last summer. Everything works perfect besides a tiny tear on the side. It comes with an optional mesh window screen for camping. 530 and it’s yours . Let me know. I’m just trying to see if there’s any interest and I work in Braintree but can meet anywhere in the state. Let me know thank you

Had a similar thing happen on my 2nd gen. It was a rust buildup on the cable near the tranny. It even threw a code once.
Sprayed the end of the cable where it went into the sleeve with some Kroil and it freed up.

So if I pull the shifter plastic again and hit the part that controls the shifter with some lube? Is that what you are saying. I just want to make sure.

Edit: reading again, sounds like maybe you are saying under the car.

    Thanks!
