The ones of us regularly exposed to the 3rd gen forums are equally desensitized.

People who think that are just jealous they aren’t fortunate enough to live in a safe rural community

Amen to that. No murder, no rape, very very VERY little property crime.

never had this problem... must be a shitty state.... I leave my house unlocked year round unless I am on vacation... sounds like time to move... and what would they steal from under your hood? battery? alternator? maybe a headlight bulb or two? the 3rd gens the catalytic converter is now a part of the manifold, harder to cut out, and higher up in the frame rails.. not a absolute solution, but harder to steal than the 2nd gens were..

You know what, stay in your crime ridden area please. The rest of us who live normal peaceful lives don't want you moving out here. Thanks.

Wouldn’t putting a visible lock on your hood be a sure fire sign saying “hey, I got good shit in here?”

That being said, not once have I ever thought about locking my damn hood more than it is. I can leave stuff in my truck bed, pre-camper shell, and not worry it would disappear.

Might want to lock your muffler down, just in case someone wants to steal it!

You can portray your small town as being peaceful, but it has issues like every other place on earth.

i get it. i cut the hood release cable and removed the latching system and replaced it with a heavy duty chain welded to the under side of the hood and locked with a heavy duty lock to the frame. the key is to cut the chain to the perfect length so you get a nice snug fit.

Absolutely correct. But crime type and percentage per capita is much lower than big urban areas.

Small town of under 1600 people and on a dirt road. Most of us know or recognize each other and when something is out of place. Sure crime can happen, but EXTREMELY rare around here. Nice place to live and ~95% are gun owners very high hunting populace.

    Stock.
Just pay someone to sit on your hood when it's parked.
