25 years is a long service life. Doable but a long time, even if you can avoid car wrecks that's a lot of miles.

Probably be all electric or hydrogen by then anyways.

It means you have the faster car. Just like someone upgrading the suspension. They'll have a better suspension. How someone who "mods race cars" can't see how much better of a suspension system someone could put in over the Pro for even less money CORRECTLY is baffling.

You are aware that there are "hackjob" bolt on systems that kick the shit out of your overpriced Pro Fox 2.5's right? Like completely outclass the 2.5's with actual ground clearance, travel, adjustments, dampening etc for cheaper? With perfect alignments and CV angles. Just throwing that out there.

I don't think the off road needs to be upgraded. Other than new tires I have mine stock and it capable of getting me anywhere I need to go not looking for crawling but just basic trails and all the spots I go to get to base jumps.

I kind of find that comparison a little misleading but I understand what you’re saying.

In the end we aren’t comparing two vastly different vehicles, we are comparing two very similar models of the same truck, one of which can potentially 15k more expensive.

I think pros are cool as hell, I just wouldn’t be able to justify spending that price for an overpriced by dealer suspension and heated seats. I’m also coming from a standpoint that I like doing work to my truck and doing any kind of suspension work on a pro is like throwing away money to me. Most people aren’t like that and that’s why it’s personal preference.

Now if they did any kind of engine work to that set it apart it I’d sing a different tune and would have gotten the pro.

First of all l don't have a Pro. Second of all, I didn't say you couldnt get a better suspension. I said most people don't consider any of the aforementioned factors. They'll throw some shocks on and preload the springs, add a spacer, add a leaf or two, cut frame and "look awesome" . No thank you. Resale takes a plunge as well.

Your saying the PRO isn't worth it based solely on 'inferior' suspension. But there's more to the Pro than that. That's all I'm saying.

Little bit of this and a little bit of that but stock af.
I bought my pro out the door for 44k here in Northern California. To me the price difference was minimal and I was able to have a exclusive color for the year.

Fast forward a year, at that price I would still purchase the pro over the or. But that’s just me.

I’ve heard many say, “why change the pro suspension, you paid what for the shocks” I get it, people have a hard time selling or getting rid of “sports” or “Or” suspension. But I took mine off and sold it a couple hours of posting.

I would probably bet the same for my wheels if I decided to sell them.

All in all, get what you want. Our opinions should not deter you from either vehicle. Win win situation if you ask me.

Also another thing the pro has that no one mentioned was the home link on the rear view mirror. I don’t know but I’m pretty sure non of you “or” have that function. But hey it may not be for everyone.

OK...Camaro/Corvette work better for you? They do share engines after all.

Regardless of how drastic the comparison, the truth is still there. I'm part of several car forums. It's always the same argument.

You're not understanding, no I am not just calling the pro suspension "inferior". Pretty much all of us are saying the Pro is great if you don't intend to mod the suspension and don't mind paying more for the extras. If you are modding the suspension, it is considered a waste for some frugal people. You came FLYING to the defense of the pro because you were offended I said it was for people with out the "know how". And you clearly made it known and a point that you definitely had the know how and mod race cars. I'll edit my original post to "could be perfectly tailored for people like you". The one you quoted me on. Hopefully this will unrustle those jimmies. :proposetoast:

Jimmie's arent rustled, thank you. My point is I'd buy an 'inferior' Pro before I bought your hack job. My point hasn't changed, so there's no need to edit my post.

LOL, have that on the runner... don’t know what it does and it definitely wasn’t a selling point for me. Should I use it?

*Edit: talking about that homelink thingy in my wife’s rearview

Are you implying that you contributed to the proliferation of “wannabe pro” Tacos?!?!? I hope you have a sense of humor, just trying to lighten things up

Well I get it, many don’t have garages to open so this might be totally useless.
Haha no worries. But someone got a upgrade.

I have a 2015 pro and paid MSRP of 38k and change, not positive if it's ok to discuss it here since this is a "3rd gen section."

Here we go again with the spewing of bs numbers.

There is more than enough buyer data on here to prove that those 2017 purchases with 10-15k in markup were anomalies. Nobody is actually paying that. So what we’re left with is justifying what is typically an extra $5k, which doesn’t take long to cover that gap when you start adding it up. It’s been covered here to no end.

I think the weird part about TW is that I’ve never seen Pro owners criticize the purchase or OR’s as an inferior vehicle or anything of the sort. But each time these threads come up we’re having to defend why we spent money the way we wanted to. But yet it’s encouraged to replicate the look of this truck and catch your house on fire trying to bake-in blacked out headlights.

Point blank: it’s a cool truck (clearly everybody here likes the look enough to copy it) and $5k isn’t that much money.

    The triggering is real.

Anomalies? I was at a dealership getting serviced and the sticker for the pro was 49.5.. my buddy works at a dealership and the sticker for one at his dealership is 50. This wasn’t years ago, this was last week. Add an additional cost for tax and licensing and it falls directly into the range I gave you. Dealer markup in this state is insane.

Also, no one says the off-road is inferior because it’s not.. if you plan to do work on your suspension then the off-road is a perfect platform to do it on. I have everything the pro has minus the marked up fox suspension.
