Now, I wouldn’t be welding this on with some Chicago electric flux core shit, but a solid MIG welder that you’ve got some seat time with will be just fine.

Thanks! I have been lurking in there and its definitely a good thread. Some of the posts / opinions in there are what had me hesitant to weld to the frame / axle with the 140.

Yep I used one with softer bristles like this: https://amzn.to/2tIRoTO Just go easy around any electrical parts and it works great.

I’m VERY happy with the titanium. They’re new so not many reviews, but I took a leap of faith (and bought a 2 year warranty).

Thank you! I’m pleased with how they came out

Every bolt I can access has been replaced with 304 SS. One day I will strip everything off of the frame and sand blast, gusset & box in rear after X member then Ceramic coat. I have been following you for quite some time @EatSleepTacos! You are a true inspiration. The way you just handled your response was epic as far as I am concerned.

I have all the goodies saved in picture form, yeah my build page is way overdue. Once I get done with my $3K exhaust build, I will be doing a build and bs thread. So other people can see my DURABILTY Build...

The same shit everyone else has.
Finished my lighted 4wd switch. Gave up making my own as I couldn’t get the LEDs to sit how I wanted. I just changed the LEDs on my existing one from amber to red.

Also ordered a sheet of red filter material to use as an overlay for my Ultragauge to change it to red. Gonna use it to change the color of the compass too.

All the amber interior lighting save for the previous mentioned stuff is now red.

The radio lighting is staying white because it’s easier to read.

I also re-aimed my headlights. Couldn’t figure out why I was all the sudden getting flashed a lot at night lately. Then it dawned on me I didn’t touch the lights after I added the 285s and new front top plates. I had to drop them down 2” to get back to where they were previously adjusted to.

I hear ya. I started welding about 4-5 years ago after messing around w/welding a few times. I practiced for 40+ hours. Then I build my rear bumper for my FZJ80 then little stuff then my off road trailer. I love welding! Building a shop now & will hopefully get a big bandsaw, drill press & tubing bender. I have everything else so if I get these 3 items then I'll be able to make myself just about anything I could ever need.

Just got back to Denver from a run down to Durango through a wicked snow storm. I'm from Alaska and haven't seen snow like that in some time. 46" in 3 days. The taco plowed through it all like a champ.

Wolf Creek pass with 12"? No problem. Monarch pass with ice and weekend warriors? No problem.

Got a few great days on the mt at Purgatory, knee deep and no crowds. So glad to be off of the i70 corridor.

Multiple times chugging up the pass in 4th passing Jerrys or coming down a pass in 3rd, I verbally expressed my live for my 6MT as my wife rolled her eyes.

Gosh dang I love this truck.

Pic is from the 'sows ear' dining room, a fantastic restaurant at the lodge we stayed at.
