Not a bad apple. Just giving you a hard time because there are so many pointless threads that it’s crazy. Any steering wheel shake is not normal.

I know it’s not normal. But Toyota seems to think it’s normal and refused to try and fix it until I called corporate. Driving through town at 5 o’clock with the vibrations constantly bc you’re constantly in the 20-30 mph range as you go red light to red light is enough to make you regret your decision to go with a Tacoma over another midsize brand.

Absolutely no issues with mine. It's as tight and solid as a new vehicle should be. I thought I sensed a very slight vibration for a half second when starting out, but I haven't noticed it lately. I'm at 2200 miles.

I haven’t read through the entire thread but you should test drive another truck on their lot and tell them if it does what your truck is doing then it’s normal. If not they need to figure it out.

That’s what’s so weird about my braking shaking issue. The truck it tight, well put together , no shimmy over bad bumps ....overall I’m more than impressed with the ride quality compared to old Tacoma’s . The issue isn’t related to a truck like drive , more like something wrong in the driveline . Even with the shaking it doesn’t rattle or squeak which is s first for any truck I’ve owned.

If we could get this issue fixed I think we would all be smitten instead of smittys.

OR Manual here, 1500 miles, no vibrations at all. My 02 TRD suffered from warped rotors a few months after buying it new. Toyota service said the rotors get hot, you hit some water, they warp, it is normal. I never had a warped rotor on any other vehicle I've owned. It was a pretty decent chatter coming to a stop. I could feel it in the brake peddle when lightly touching the brakes. I wasn't happy about it, then got used to it. Around 50k miles (give or take a 10k) I replaced the pads and replaced the rotors with cheapish aftermarket. Never had the braking chatter again. In the 17 years I owned the truck the initial rotor issues and the poorly placed clock were my only two issues or complaints.

Hope you get it resolved! Keep us posted.

OP you keep saying Toyota says it normal and refuses to fix it . They already admitted it was not normal and it is their fault when they tried to fix it a couple times .

I completely agree. Like I told the lady with Toyota today. Every day I get into the truck I’m happy with the purchase...then I drive the truck with the vibration and I regret it. It’s a love hate relationship right now.

I’m glad you understand my confusion. The dealership said it’s not normal and tried to fix it, then when Toyota got involved with the issue, they told me it’s normal.

You need a new mechanic. No wonder why you're so defensive, everyone is trying to take advantage of you haha.
