What are some good long term dividend stocks to buy into right now? I've got my eye on GME, AAPL, MRO,and M is at a 52 week low right now. Im thinking it would probably be smart to buy into it.

    Also thinking about some ETFs

I could show you my whole portfolio if you’d like (would take a few minutes to type out), 32 stocks, equally weighted it yields 5%.

It’s always changing as I find more companies that I want, but I’m pretty happy with these. I wanted to sell something to buy CSCO but honestly there’s nothing I’m willing to sell so it’s going to have to wait.

Yea I was looking at CSCO too but its at the very top of the 52 week high so I may wait on the next dip. Idk.

I think I’m going to wait for some kind of dip so I don’t regret buying at its high. But it’s probably good if you hold for a while regardless of price.

    Little bit on that topic
Ive been seeing a lot of commercials that have been bothering me about a app to borrow money till next paycheck
Now your thinking Lending Tree or one of those type of business but its a mobile app

The part that gets to me is the actors in the commercial are so excited about borrowing $25 for lunch on Tuesday because they dont get paid till Friday, and other examples of how to use
    this app along those lines
I hope this is not a trend but defiantly not a good habit

    +1
His 8 step thing is kind of neat, a little out of order but most of it is reasonable, everyone is different though

It is but I’m in this for dividends. I have no interest in hoping the market does well so maybe I can sell higher someday. I want to get paid now, with the chance of capital appreciation too. I don’t want to disclose my portfolio size but 4 stocks would be way too risky.

Overall, would you say you've been successful with this method? I feel like I am more of a long term person. Put money in and collect interest in addition to a few stocks here and there. But then again I am still finding my niche...

I just got into the market last year, so you can figure it out looking at a chart of the indexes. I was obviously down a lot late last year, and up a lot this year. With the dividends, I know that I can stop working at any time and get by, so that’s why I do it this way. I do still work but just knowing I don’t have to makes it worth sacrificing some growth (for me at least). Everyone is in a different situation so it’s impossible to really give advice (I can’t stand seeing people on tv giving advice on investing).

If you just put money into SPY, you’d probably beat my portfolio (I would guess), but you won’t get paid much along the way.

I would be satisfied if my portfolio didn’t grow at all, and just paid me 5% that I could reinvest. Probably a strange thing to say, but I have irrational fears of a massive collapse that wipes out prices.

Edit: I have changed plans, changed my mind, lost a lot of money with one bad idea (a good lesson), all over the last year, and settled on what I am doing now. It's definitely not what everyone should do, but being more conservative with a decent monthly income seems to fit me and my goals the best.
