For anyone who helped me earlier, I got the saw running properly now.

Long story short, I ended up rebuilding the whole thing. Still cheaper than a new one I suppose.

The only thing I couldn’t source was the model # “badge”. So I made my own @bobsuruncle

This was my first time with a small engine. It took me a few weeks of screwing with it after work but nothing was too difficult. If I knew what I was doing and had the parts, it would take an afternoon. I just watched YouTube videos and frequented the saw shop near me. I think anyone can do it with the right tools.

Does your saw need a Skookum badge too?

Links for your saw? No. Badge? I could probably do.

I love working on old saws. It's therepudic. I got a few (3) Homelite XL-12s a while back and fixed them up to full working condition. I gave one to my brother in law and the other is my main saw now. The third is a XL-12 super... It's my backup saw.

You need to drop an "AF" just below "Skookum". Not enough room to put "Choocher" in there sadly....

I’d love to find an old Dolmar. The 260 is my truck saw because I don’t exactly need a chainsaw living in an apartment.

Not with that attitude! Lots of trees around most apartments. Add a traffic cone, high vis vest, and hardhat... No one will bat an eye.

Gahtdamn. Does it have custom headers? Doesn't sound like the SL65's exhaust at all.

I know you can get rid of that subaru throaty exhaust with equal length headers, so maybe that's the case with that v12?

I love me some SLs. Sleeper highway cruisers IMO.

    I'm looking at 5.29s instead of 4.88s when I go 35s...

From what I've gathered, 4.88s on 3rd gens with 35s feels like completely stock. So 5.29s would make it feel a bit more useable and actually engages 5-6th better.

All i know it now has a single turbo in the back instead of the engine bay due to heat
But I know he did a lot to it

Those new sl like that white one are sick
I think that one was the black edition
Atleast it looks like one with that wide body

Front and Rear Locked, 35’s, Chevy 63” swap, Fox Suspension and a bunch of other shit too long to list.
I’ve had 5:29s in my 92’ 3.0 on 35’s put it back close to stock. I have 4:56s in my 96 3rz on 35s pretty happy with them think a 4:88 would be a little more peppy. I think a 3.5 with 5:29s would be way to low geared to be a practical daily driver/weekend warrior. Lol, unless your planning on running the piss out of it charging up logging roads rowing through the gears and drifting every corner then it would be perfect.:anonymous:

I accidentally did that once. Was 8 months overdue. Was gone for work for six of those and just spaced it. Got pulled over for it by a friendly cop. Was right by a DoL office and all he did was tell me to go there. The fine is something stupid and only goes up the longer you go without tabs.

And of course if under a year they don't prorate or anything so you get to pay for the whole year.

All that matters is whether or not you're in that map. I was about 150 feet away from the border of paying that tax at my old house. The blue dot is where I lived and the redline is the border.

I'm out of it now, but I pay a lot more in property taxes in where I live now, so tax wise it was a lateral move.

I was tempted in getting a SL55 and putting the newer front end with a black series wide body kit on it. It's so easy to make power with the old 5.4 supercharged motors. I had a n/a 5.4 c55 amg that I loved, but it was pretty slow compared to the newer AMGs. It had 410hp/425 lbs torque with some kleemann mods, and only ran high 12s, which is about the same or worse than a stock c63.
