Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Mat is probably wondering if you holdouts have done the TSB yet.

 

not going to happen. these were the first to drop, odd they're the
last to get the final update. There's no way I'd risk not being able
to go back to 1.03 that I've been on. 1.04, the 1st 1.05, neither worked
out which is why we're on a new round of tunes.

 

I switched from 87 Base to 87 Performance yesterday, I only have about 40 miles into 87 Performance, my initial analysis is that it is not too much tip-in, it is perfect for me because i love to drive using only 25% throttle (like my Harley). So now, with 87 Performance, I can start off at traffic lights and keep up with traffic using only 25% throttle, but........., this sweetness is only good up to about 25 mph...., after that I find myself, once again, gassing it more because it feels like is shifts too early into 3rd or 4th (i forget which one), and the 87 Base did not feel like it shifted too early. But I am guessing this could be because on 87 Base i would not be starting out at 25% throttle, 87 Base I start out at more like 40% throttle and I generally would keep it at 40% the whole time until I get up to the speed I like, and at 40% throttle the shift points will be different than at 25% throttle. Hell IDK, more analysis must be done, i will post more later, and post my MPG too!

 

I agree 1.04, 1.04r, and legacy 1.05 weren't that great compared to 1.03. But I'm on 1.05 87P and it's way better than 1.03. And doesn't 1.03 have learning issues?

 

Zero issue w/ 1.03, I've been on it since it dropped(not sure when that was
exactly) but it's as good now as it was initially.

 

Hey guys. What is the FOB tune? I've been trying to find info on it and I cant find anything. I'm currently on 1.05 93oct performance tune.

Took her in with 1.05 93 G/L for an oil change yesterday. I was trying to video them pulling it around but trying to sign papers I missed getting the tire spin on the way out the bay. I reset ODO prior and it was 3.1 miles when I left so someone got a quick test run in

When you post the dyno charts, if there are several pulls overlaid on the same chart, please identify clearly which pulls are which by colour!
ie - green = stock, red = 1.05 base, blue = 1.05P etc.

I’m going to go to 87 performance this weekend.

Well. Probably next Tuesday cause we’re supposed to get like 6-8 inches of snow on Sunday. Don’t need extra slipping.

 

Good choice. I like it even better with ECT on.

 

I don't understand everyone's continual love for 1.03... don't get me wrong it was great a year and a half ago but there's way better tunes available since then...
