We ground tent around these parts.. woman & I agreed an rtt looks nice & all, but can’t justify spending the cash on one just to use it a few times a year. Would end up taking up space.
Also, would you guys prefer to go to Cancun or Hawaii for a post-anniversary vacation lol

No rack? Are you waiting for one or looking to have one built?

I would need to have one built. My goal was to have it be attached to my DMZ bed cage and then utilize the rear bed bolts to keep it off the glass like you did with angry red. If you got something lying around that can be modified though I could be interested.

Negative on Hawaii. Was more of a lateral move with a cost of living increase. End of the day just could not justify it given the fact would be hard for me to find work at first and spending $2500-$3000 a month on rent would not have been offset by her increase. She kinda wants to go to TX either Plano our Woodlands. I cant go anywhere that the mountains or tropical beach are not close by. Unfortunately most of their locations are places neither of us really want to live. Orange County CA, TX FL etc none of which are appealing. I mean CA would be awesome geographically, but at the end of the day it is CA and everything else about it sucks

Thats a bummer man, but hey atleast we can still wheel then! I agree man Hawaii is just expensive as hell unless you really got a solid set up.

The guy who built our race truck and I are starting a small scale fab deal. Mostly production items, but we are looking to do a few custom things to help get some money in for more tooling.

If your serious about having something built shoot me a pm man. We can tie it into your bed cage and rearmost bed bolt pretty easily.

Im not a big fan of RTTs, they seem like they take as much effort to setup as a ground tent, and you cant stand in them.

The flippac Ive been using is great for extended trips, especially when I dont need to move the vehicle. If I do, setup and teardown is pretty quick so its not a huge deal. I still get all the bed storage space as you would with a shell, which is great.

I have considered a trailer in the future, like a teardrop or something lite that has decent ground clearance. The Forest River No Boundaries 10.6 trailer is dope as hell, might go that route.

The big problem I have with the flippac is it gets cold as hell in winter, and Im usually using it on rock climbing trips to flagstaff, bishop, and red rock, and have been in single and low double digit temps. It gets cold in those temps, in the 50s and above, its amazing.
