How much are you paying for your 2019 Tacoma?

I am in Florida and I purchased a 2019 SR5 2x4 DCLB for 31,800 OTD (Thats all taxes, fees, doc, included), I got 0% financing for 36 months.

 

Can anyone tell me if I'm missing any major reg flags with this deal.. Its their first offer, all via online communication, and I think its pretty damn good, especially since this trim with MT and the options I want is hard to find..

Brand new 2019 TRD OR, DCSB, MT6, Colors that I want, with Tech and Premium package, roof rack and blacked out emblem overlay:
MSRP: $39,567
Discount: $3,879
Rebate: $1,000
Price: $34,688 + TTL

Thoughts? I would typically be entirely against paying for dealer added roof rack and emblem work, but the price seems pretty right, and those are additions I would want to do on my own anyway... Please tell me if I'm missing something.

I wouldn't pay a penny more than $31,500 (+ TTL, obviously), or you could get a TRD OR 4x4 for just $2,000-$3,000 more.

 

Okay I hear ya, the SR5 is a big step up from what I currently have and I could always go aftermarket if I felt the need. When people throw out these "10%" off numbers are they looking at the base msrp or the final after options and fees?

 

2019 TRD Off Road - Double Cab/Long Bed - Cement - Tech + Premium, Predator tube steps, all weather mats and sill protectors, mudguards, and door edge guards. Dealer said it was a custom factory order that the buyer walked away from before delivery. I told him it wasn't THAT special and I'd keep walking too unless we could find a fair price. The MSRP was $42,300, I got it for $38,000 + TTL. They were fair on my trade (175k mile 2010 manual trans Corolla S). I brought my own approved financing then invited them to beat the rate in the finance office, and they did by a large margin through Toyota Financial. I also had a bank check for $5k which helped.

I had negotiated multiple quotes for the non-premium version of the same configuration at the standard 10% below MSRP ($35,500-$36,000) from multiple dealers around New England. $38k was my absolute top offer for the Premium package truck, and if I couldn't get it, I would've settled for cloth unheated seats and no JBL/moonroof and saved a few thousand to spend on Clazzios and a Pioneer head unit. Once the dealer came down to meet my last offer, we had a deal.

Zero regrets - it's a fantastic truck so far. I'm coming from an '03 Silverado 2500HD along with the Corolla S. For all the transmission complaints I've read on the Taco, I have to say, I'd rather have 18-22mpg in a fuel conscious drive-by-wire setup than the ~8mpg I enjoyed with that Chevy 6.0L burning rubber off the line. I had months where I spent $400 on gas just getting to work and buying groceries (hence the Corolla). I put 70k miles on that Corolla in 3 years and all it needed was a set of tires, front rotors and pads and frequent DIY oil and filter changes. At that point I started buying into the idea of legendary Toyota reliability. I took out a 100lb buck at 45mph one morning, wrinkled the driver side fender but Corolla otherwise unharmed. Got sideswiped on the highway at 70mph by a much larger sedan, unharmed besides a scratched fender on the passenger side. I almost want another MT Corolla to DD but the wife hates them (too much like a go-kart).

 

Welcome to Tacomaworld man and nice choice on the truck. I'm getting mine in a week or so after having a collision repair shop burn my 2015 down in their shop while in there for a small fender bender. Seem's they aren't as durable as they say

Just picked up my 2019 DCSB SR 4x4 in MBM for $34,500 OTD yesterday. Regional markup here is a bitch but I can’t travel to shop for cheaper so what can you do? Plus I milked them for a little extra over book on my Prius trade-in so I ended up paying less than $19k out of pocket.

First time posting here. I am helping a friend of mine purchase a 2019 DCLB TRD Sport 4x4 in the DC area. Doesn't need the premium package. We are going to get offers from all the dealers in our area, but I am trying to figure out what would be considered a good deal. The Tacoma's he is interested in have an MSRP between $38k and $39k. I am thinking a price after discounts and before TTL & Fees of around $33k would be a great deal.

Would you all agree or is there more money to be saved?

Based on my recent experience over the past two weeks, $33k is a smokin deal if you can get it. I'd expect to be closer to $35k based on all the haggling I did on similarly equipped Off Roads before buying the Premium package DCLB TRDOR a week ago. 10-12% off MSRP is still the standard method to calculate the "expect to pay this much" price for these trucks right now. If he's serious about buying now and wants to get a purchase done, his "last best offer" number should probably be between $35k and $36k. Anything lower and it's probably a roll of the dice on finding a desperate dealer who's looking to unload something.

 

Thanks for your thoughts. I was surprised to see on Cargurus dealers advertising a truck and is $38K MSRP for $35k. Figured there would be more room to work below that, but maybe they are being aggressive right off the bat.

 

I saw a lot of that internet pricing from 8-10 dealerships around New England - once I gave an email or phone number, I had them contacting me saying that they would do $35500-$36500 on these Tech package TRDOR DCLBs with listed MSRPs around $39k. If I pushed back looking for any deeper discounts, they either stopped replying or knocked another $100-$200 off and said that was their bottom line. A few of them took my “I’ll give you $34,500” final offer and tried to redirect me into an SR or SR5 for that money instead of continuing to negotiate on the TRDOR.

The internet salespeople are trying to move volume and cut to the chase a lot quicker than if you walk into a dealership. They give a price very close to their best right off the bat and will (barring unusual circumstances) only move down by another $100-$200 to try to poach a deal from the competition.

 

I like this thread,gives me a decent idea of what to expect when it comes down to getting a good deal. For those of you who went out of state to purchase your truck,how did the taxes go when you came back to your home state?
If I can't find a decent deal that I'm happy with in my immediate area I would love to fly out and road trip back,depending on the deals

 

You'll have to pay applicable state/ local sales or excise tax where you plan to register the truck.

 

The selling dealer in the state you buy it from, will use tax rate from your home address. I live in WI Tax rate 5.5%, Bought in MN their tax 6.5%. Selling dealer submitted paper work with 5.5% and did tax/registration/tabs for WI using my home address. Now if it's private party sale, you have to submit taxes when you register it in your home area.

 

He's the deal I negotiated last September on a 2018 Sport DCSB 4x4. MSRP incl delivery + $385 doc fee was $39,042. Dealer discount $5,357 plus $1000 Toyota Cash. Final OTD price was $39,042 - $6,357 = $32,685. (No taxes/ reg.)

Yes, most dealers will take care of everything for you. I have bought 5 vehicles in MN, 1 in IL, and I'm a WI resident. They took care of everything, and no problems at all.
