Good evening guys and gals, I recently installed the TRD pro grill on my 2019 TRD Sport and got the garnish for it and everything. I installed it and plugged everything in - everything's where it needs to be. I read that you should drive it to let the system recalibrate itself but it's been about 300 miles later and it still has the "clean sensor" message pop up on start up. I know its clean, no snow here in Socal. Any advice appreciated thanks!

I just got all the components...grille and garnish. Not sure why yours hasn’t recalibrated...everything I’ve read so far is that within 20-30 miles it learns the new position and is good to go. I plan on disconnecting the negative battery cable while I do the install. That should be roughly 25-30 mins. I hope that when I reconnect everything it doesn’t hesitate to relearn the new position.

Sorry I wasn’t any help...but hopefully yours gets fixed.

Good call on the battery disconnect. Should always be done especially to help eliminate electrical issues when installing items.

OP have you done a battery disconnect?

Always a great first diagnosing step for sure. Glad it’s good to go!

I’ll disconnect tonight to for 15 seconds to see if it clears. Mine doesn’t seem to want to relearn. The minute I turn onto a road it goes off. If I drive in straight line no error.

I think I read a post here once and the OP didn’t push the connectors deep enough. Once he did it’s fixed .

A few weeks ago I bought the $73 eBay Pro grille and $23 aftermarket garnish; the dash warning light came on all the time. I returned the garnish and bought the $52 dollar OEM Toyota one and haven’t had a dash light since. It worked without disconnecting the battery or resetting anything.
I put them side by side and compared them and the cheap one had all the OEM markings and part numbers but felt different. The OEM one came wrapped/sealed in brown paper with a proper Toyota bar code sticker while the aftermarket one was just wrapped in plastic.
Maybe you got a non-OEM garnish?
