Should that read 04A61, or is there a new TSB that we need to be aware of?

I think I'll try 1.03, at least until Mat drops 04b03. Will Mat still provide older tunes? Or anyone on here?

theres no reason to try out 1.03.

    run 1.04 or 1.05.

if you are running 04b03 you can do the TSB and update to 04b04 and run all the current 1.05 tunes and not have to wait for 04b03.

I’m in Winnipeg so I guess I qualify for the non US market. I’m flashed to 1.05 87/GL with CID 04A61. Is the above mentioned TSB a must or can I tell them not to do it? My 8000 km srvc is at the end of this month.

If they do the TSB, how will it affect the tune?

Just when things sre working good it seems they come up with ways to fix things that don’t need fixing.

    91 Perf

Since day one it has been about drive ability for me. Less concerned about aggressive power, less concerned about high mpg. I do love power, but I didn’t expect a ton in a pickup. I just didn’t expect to/want to have think about wtf was the truck doing while I was busy trying to drive it, at least not in a, “wtf is wrong with this thing kind of way.”

Flashed 91 performance and about 40 miles in and haven’t been able to wipe the grin off my face, can’t believe this is the same truck.

I’m stock now. I’m super chill on the pedal so the performance tip in is fine for me, stay easy and it goes easy, jam on it and it jams. I did a 12 mile drive jamming on it and got 12mpg, but followed that with a 12 mile drive going easy and got 22mpg. About to add suspension and some larger tires. I imagine the extra weight will mellow it out a bit but I’m hoping minimally as I definitely dig it as is.

I feel like I’m accepting an award or something but @OVTune I can’t say thank you enough other than to have made the purchase. Thanks man, and thanks everyone for all the Techstream and Flash info and help.

Will update if any of this changes and feel free to ask any questions.

I have asked and he won’t. He doesn’t want to go backwards in tunes which is very understandable.Others’ tune won’t work in your truck.

This thread is massive. What is the consensus if one lives at elevation where the highest octane is 91. Flash the 91 or 93?

After two tanks of fuel this is what my distance till empty has increased to with 93 Base. The old number was 385.

I'm just trying to understand your reason for holding out here then. You can easily do the TSB yourself, which will mean you can flash a performance tune today.

@Shellshock 's point was, you have the tools available to you so you DO have better tunes available.

Do not flash any tune designed for higher octane fuel than what you actually run in the truck, regardless of elevation.
