*EXCEPT the 87 tune if you are running 85 octane at higher elevation.

Or if you don't want the dealer to ram your truck into the wall not realizing the tip in :)

@lapoltba is exactly right. its no different than all the MT guys who were 04b10 / 04b11 / 04b12 that updated to 04b13. Theres not a single one thats regretted doing so and they have access to all the tunes.

    Not for me....

There are several people that have already asked about 85, because that's what they get at higher elevations. 85 is our (my) 87. It has been discussed and somewhere Mat has said it is fine. Would I fill up with 85 and then go down to sea level and expect everything to be okay? No...

Thank you, guess a little thought in my small mind wondered if I could get a small extra something out of the truck. I’ll stick with 91. I will say that this tune has been amazing and turned dreaded interstate driving into something enjoyable again.

I am currently on 91 base tune with 91 in the tank. I plan to go Colorado in near future, what if there is no 91 gas in the area and I need to fill up for the return trip home?

I have been to few gas stations in Denver / Boulder area that only sell 85 87 89.

I really hated interstate driving in my 2016. I do 40,000+ miles a year and probably 90% of that is on the interstate which eventually led to my trade for a MT. I definitely still wonder yet how I'd feel about the auto 2 years later with the new TSBs and tunes. it's got to be a completely different truck today.

The costs for all this just isn't in my future. I hate how my 2016 TRD OR drives but just can't afford to get it tuned right. I've had the TSB's done and done feel that it did anything. I may ask the dealer to reflash the TSB when i go in for my 30k service, maybe it didn't take??? Is there anyway to share costs with OVTune? anyone in Central PA willing to do that? Thanks!

I just flash it while its filling up to the highest available octane and tune combo and keep on moving

Each tune is tied to the specific ECU. Only way to reduce cost is if you find someone with a Tactrix cable in your area, then you just purchase the software only option.

With that said, it is ABSOLUTELY worth the price, truck drives so much better.

I know I will get yelled at for asking this but just put the 93 Gear Lock I’m my truck and I’m getting rpm surges. What can I do to cure this? Should I reflash?

That sounds like a huge pain in the rear end. Let me ask the question another way.

What is the general availability of 91 octane gas in Denver?

Its really not. When im out and know im gonna run into varying octanes, i take the laptop and can literally flash the truck before the gas tank finishes filling up usually
