What’s a medical app

 

We use them for medication-dosing or side effects, also compatibility of medicines in IV tubing. Some docs use the apps for imagery such as X-ray or mri. Also use them for dictation of medical charts.

 

I can't imagine ever wanting or using an iPhone. They feel so restrictive and limiting compared to what I've gotten used to.

I am a big HTC fanboi I guess. I'm on my third one in the last 10 year. All have been great. The current one is an HTC 10 and it is now two years old and shows no signs at all of showing its age.

Didn't I read the HTC actually made the Pixel2 for Google?

 

I weirdly like how Apple restricts me from having a more custom phone experience. Every time I've owned an Android I go overboard and spend way too much time playing with my phone and modifying the OS. Sometimes K.I.S.S. is a good thing I guess

 

Yeah, I don't know anyone who has a Pixel3.

What I'm curious about is what will happen to the price tags on new 4g phones when these 5g networks start becoming available. Right now, the first 5g phone available, Galaxy s10, is going for $900-$1000 depending upon how much RAM and memory it comes with. And then there is the 5g plans. You know that price will go up for 5g access too.

 

All top tier phones go for 900-1000+. Ridiculous

 

I don't think this is true for Android phones. I can get an unlocked HTC 12+ with 128GB for $700 and a locked Pixel 3 with 128GB is $800.

 

800 is still to close to a grand for me. That's nuts for a phone.

They are expensive but so far, they keep getting better and better. One of the reasons I am watching to see what actually happens when 5g phones and networks come on line.

FWIW, I have typically gotten a solid 4 years of use out of my phones before I felt the need to replace. I paid $650 (the most ever) for my unlocked HTC 10. My last phone, an HTC M8,though decommissioned for use as a phone, is still in use for its computing power and decent battery, in the truck on adventures. I use it with BCN and APRSdroid.

 

I've only own 5 phones since 2008. Think I do pretty good. Hoping this Pixel lasts at least 4 years.

I use my old Droid X for APRS haha battery in it is shot though.


So idk about the rest of you. But we have gotten POUNDED with snow this week. I buried Igor last night in a ditch trying to go home early in a bad spurt. Dumped about 8'' in 2 hours. Couldn't see anything it was such bad white out conditions. Miss judged a corner and in I went.

Dug it out twice and started a third time but after an hour I was done. Walked 3 miles back to work and got help.

Snowed 3-5'' more last night.

I almost went home and bought lockers, studded snow tires for the old wheels, and maxxtrax haha

 

Sorry to hear about the mishap. The key to that last part is "almost". We all know that lockers and snow tires do not improve visibility nor judgement.

I believe you have a good chance for that happening with your Pixel2 because it's really an HTC.

I had some Tredds or whatever. They were my Dads. I think I gave them back or left them in Powell as they are always in the way in the bed when on trips...obviously..I should have kept them not for trips but for this ha

Probably get some Maxx tracks though. They work better. I remember using Gages a few years ago. However, I also know that they work MUCH better with a truck with a locker. They don't always hook the tire, but if you have two for both tires with a locked axle you'll almost always get out.

No, but at least they would have gotten me out of the freaking ditch. Took 3 hours to get home last night instead of maybe 45mins. I left early in hopes to make it to the post office to grab a package...obviously did not happen haha

I'll probably order some tracks at least. I grabbed the tire chains and put them in the truck. Only down side to those is they just BARELY fit on Igors tires. Usually leave them in the little truck as they fit the 31s great. But that truck is still dead. Currently under about 2' of snow haha

 

metal spikes would certainly make them a better investment. The plastic one break off. The Tredds we had spikes were never that great. Thats the big difference I think is how well they grab the tire. This is where I've noticed having a locker helps as really you just need to get the tires under something not snow and ice and bam. Done.

I actually hope to buy some Rago Frab Ditch light brackets for the little truck to help spot deer. I think they are nice brackets. Better than the CBI ones anyways. Maybe i'll grab one of those.

It does make you crab more but if you have the track under them they won't. Plus, trust me you crab just as bad with out one when your straddling a ditch with a 3' drop off and 4' of snow haha

 

This is the same for me. Less is more everything is tooo saturated now days for me.

 

The best way to avoid water is to just turn the head facing backwards. I know people do this in really bad rain down pours too. Or get a Donaldson filter thing.

Gravity can suck it haha
