I'm still super interested in running the sections from Globe up to The rim or where it meets the 87 past the rim. I have not really spent any time between Globe and the rim before and would love to see that area. Especially since the AZT does not run on that side of AZ

You do know that some of us have at least 10 years on you, right? ;):muscleflexing:

On section 2, you can see the trail that we went up partially and then camped. The bypass takes you back over to the highway to the west of that and is all paved. If you stay on the trail going north from the camp spot, you will be off road the whole time until you reach I10. With the snow, it was probably a good thing we did the bypass. Mud or dry, it's much better.

That looks like the route @Ace115 and I did over New Years. The blue route is an updated route for the motorcycles and loops around to the east. The original route is totally doable and fun, without snow.

Was thinking make a weekend loop out of it drive out towards superior go up from there, then continue on to the 260 and come home through Payson. I am over four peaks road been up there too much in the last year to enjoy the slog of it anymore.

Well that makes sense now! I actually like that "blue" track instead of the other route!? Looks like more "offroad" to me!

Don't doubt the original route that @Ace115 and I did. Definitely offroad! His truck almost fell in a hole even!

    AZ Tour : Take Two,

For anyone interested in the Tour that wasn’t able to make the originally scheduled dates, here is another opportunity to run with us.

@Ace115 ”If you do all the easy lines of section 1&2 and don’t take many breaks/stops you could get through those two and probably all of 3 in one long day. You’ll miss a lot of cool scenery if you’re racing through it though. Section 4 went from easy to moderate so the pace slowed as the trail got tighter and rougher. I doubt you’d enjoy it much if you raced through it.”

@Carter'sTaco ”Dang! Well then! So looks like I leave Thursday April 11th, and will be coming back Tuesday April 16th. I figure Sections1-2-3 Thursday & Friday. Get to 4 around Saturday early to late afternoon. That gives us sunday, monday, tuesday for 4-8...or really whatever we can get done. Ill take whatever time more I need if I do.

    What you guys thinking?”

And now I'll have to see. My interim security clearance came in earlier than expected. I start my orientation with Raytheon on March 25th. Gotta see what my schedule is going to look like now.

Haven’t heard from anyone lately as far as the April trip around the 11th.
Regardless, I’m still in to complete that section that we started but couldn’t finish, in prep for the AZ Tour Part 2.

Well keep me posted when you want to try it out. I presume the snow has melted?

Not 100% sure on that. There is still quite a bit of snow on top of Mt Lemon but it’s over 9k feet. Not sure what the max elevation is out where we got stuck/stopped.
