I didn't read all 600+ posts, but what self respecting truck owner would admit on TW that they can't drive a stick?

Not sure what the point of this thread is, but sure, I'll play.

Yes, I can row my own. But I don't do it every day. During the summer, every day that isn't raining. During the winter, not so much. 3/5 of our vehicles are sticks, but both of our DD's are slushboxes.

Honestly the results should be 100% anyway, because unless you only have one foot, anyone can drive a stick if they have a couple hours. Manual drivers usually tend to inflate the whole 'drive a stick' skill and make it seem like some special and mysterious skill when it isn't. It's a piece of cake!

Accords were imported in the 70s. All Hondas, actually. I think there were only two models back then, the Accord and Civic (aka the CVCC).

Yes, many cars and pickups 3 on the column. Even drove a 4 on the column. My brother had an old Saab that was 4 forward gears and reverse on the column. It had a two-stroke engine ! Sounded like a dirt bike. Very cool.

My first car was a 66 Saab 96. Teardrop unibody, two stroke four on the tree. You had to put oil in the gas tank on every fill up.

I thought for a long time I was pretty decent at driving a stick shift until last year I got my CDL and learned how to properly drive a semi.... totally different when you have 10+ gears and you have to double clutch them all! Took me a few try’s to finally master it. Now I’m grinding gears and passing.... people on the highway!

The important question is, does it still have a 3 on the tree?

Because my '69 came with 3 speeds originally, and now has a floor shifted A-833 instead. Whoever owned it in the 80's decided that they'd rather have a 4 speed since they were replacing the transmission anyway after it ate 2nd gear.

Nah, once the small block went in we put a tilt column in and a 350 turbo tranny. At the moment it’s getting a LS engine with a 700R4 tranny.
