That...is impressive. I've heard of rear diffs grenading before but this takes it to another level

Also never heard of a diff grenading that wasn't due to high stress/abuse, gonna have to pony up the cash on this one. See if you can source a new rear end from a scrapyard off of a front end wrecked Tacoma

Unknown lift, maybe 2" I don't know how to ID it, and would rather set it back to stock.
Not passing any judgment on issues of abuse, or manufacturing defects, etc. But--$4500 for repair??!! What on earth are they planning on doing here? Even if your axle shafts are somehow shot as well, nothing here is $4500 worth of damage/repair.

Fix this yourself for < $1000, or at least in that neighborhood. Good Lord.

    ...too much shit to list.
$4500 and you can stuff a fabricated Ford 9” or Dana 60 instead. @Norm89 you should thank your wife for breaking the weak link and just upgrade.

Clearly the cost of the reach around is not included.

Breaking off 1/4th of a 8.75" ring gear and sending a portion of it through the steel housing is quite a feat with at most 235whp.
    (Edit: not 8.75", SR5 has the 8")

Oh man, I would have paid to see the field engineer's expression when he saw this and heard that story.

The SR5 would not have the 8.75 Rear, but anyways quite an impressive feat nonetheless.

    Morale of the story...

    1) You gotta pay up unfortunately

    2) It is fixable in the end

    3) NEVER let her drive again. If this was an accident... I don’t wanna see how it goes if she fightin mad!!!
