    They confirmed they'll be open till July 4th. Been like that the last two seasons! So fun. Also Bear's lake has risen 5 feet since the recent storms/floods too so it's definitely going to be a great summer

    I think they do it on a Saturday night where they get the most visits. They us to place check points on Main St off PCH. I do know that when I ride by motorcycle through HB, they have plenty of cycle cops pulling people over left and right. I park in Newport now to access HB.

    With how much snow I saw out there a few weeks ago on my way to Tahoe, I wouldn't be surprised if the ski slopes stayed open with through the end of summer this year lol. Gonna make for some nice summer camping trips up there

    Yea I'll be up there in mid-June for family cabin reunion trip, definitely planning on skiing and mountain biking while I'm up there. Might even try to do both in one day!

    Oh I thought you meant like a DUI checkpoint, ya there's always cops downtown esecially by PCH but an actual checkpoint setup isn't often

    I've actually haven't parked in downtown HB in a long while. I usually do Newport or Seal and just make my way from one side to other.

    I've lived in the area for most of my life and have never run into a checkpoint on Main St but there was a while where there was always a bunch on Beach Blvd. :facepalm:

    It's wrong, but it's a smart business practice. Charge for a God given natural resource because you have access to the land it just so happened to fall on. Like bottled water, can't charge for the water so they make you pay for the delivery of it.

    I went last weekend online with a fee (wtf!) it came out to just over $120. Some guys had an extra ticket from a Costco 4 pack that I got for $80.
