So, I decided to go ahead a put on this lift I have sitting in the box. Well, felt kind of funny again about it, but as long as nothing was permanent Im ok, right?

Just a link to my first attempt: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/101013-lift-yes-no.html

(rewind about 3 months back)..........I bought a set of "TSB" leaf springs off craiglist to replace my Non-TSB leafs...........(continue to story)

Well, I decided I would put the AAL on the rear first since I can build up leaf pack on bench and swap leaf pack for leaf pack with the added AAL. After looking at it, something was not right. One of the leafs looked like it was out of place and very familiar to my AAL I had new in box. So I jump on Tacomaworld  to find pics of TSB leafs. Well, I'm I correct in assumming a have a useless pair of Non-TSB leafs in my hands with an AAL and not the true 4 leaf TSB?

FIRST PIC WITH A NEW PAIR OF TSB AAL I PURCHASED FROM TOYTEC THAT I WAS GOING TO ADD TO THESE LEAFS

They look like the TSB leafs. Maybe do a search for the TSB and look to see what the actual part numbers are supposed to be. I'm at work right now, so I can't run out to see what the numbers are on my TSB rear.

I say they look like TSB springs because there are 4 leafs instead of stock 3.

Oddly enough, I happened to have the paperwork for my TSB spring replacement sitting right in front of me.

"Updated rear spring assemblies are available to improve this condition. 48210-04550 (spring assembly rear, RH leaf spring) 48220-04190 (spring assembly rear, LH leaf spring)...."

So those look like the right replacement TSB springs.

Is there different part numbers or more then one part number for the TSB? I found different part numbers.

Searching through Tacomaworld, it seems like the 3rd leaf extends further out on TSB's, clamped with 1st & 2nd other leafs, and squared off at the ends.

If I'm not mistaken, aren't stock leafs from Mexico, and TSB leafs from China?

    Nope

    Nope

    Nope

    No again...

Recheck your info guys - those are 100% NOT the Toyota TSB leafs, regardless of what part number is stamped on them, or the quantity of leafs in the pack.

The third leaf on the TSB pack is clamped to the larger two - unlike the leaf pack pictured above.

    Correct!

The springs pictured are the OEM springs with an AAL.

OP, You dont want to and an AAL on top of the one already there.

Thanks, now I'm not sure which AAL is on there. Looks exactly like my Toytec AAL.

I called the guy I bought it from yesterday, he claims he got the TSB done at dealership and has no idea it was they just put an AAL on. The posting specifically said it was a TSB Leaf pack. Anyway, said he was selling it because he upgraded his.

I guess I will just take it as a loss and learn from this.

FYI, not sure if he is a member here either. But it did appear he had Sockmonkey decals on his truck.
