    Ring gear! I am one of the luckiest st guy around!

    Okay so we were going to go for a night wheeling trip. I wanted to check some noise that I thought might be coming from my brakes. Remove the rear brakes and no such luck. Still can't find the noise.

    Fast forward midnite - going home and ...tick ...tick ...tick.... ...dink... dink... dink... DANK! DANK! DANK DANK!!!!!!

    Go back to Mario's. In the morning open the filler hole on the axle housing and start turning the differential and yes sir, there were 3 teeth missing from my ring gear.

    So here is where I lucked out:

    AAA Premium Member 1 - 300 mile tow and 3 - 100 mile tows - So I am towed for free about 75 miles.

    Drove in the cab of the International based flat bed truck - Bingo! Free taxi ride back home!

    This could have happened 10 miles in! This could have happened at 2 am on the 5 freeway.

    This could have happened 400 miles from my home!!!

    All-in-all, yeah a bummer but mild when you think what could have happened!!!

    Don't leave home without it!!!

    Glad to hear you're ok Paul.

    I have to correct you Paul.

    Its (1) 200 Mile Tow & (3) 100 Mile Tow if you ONLY use your calls for towing.

    You get (4) Service Calls per membership year.
    So if you waste it on a tire change or battery jump. You just took a crucial tow away from yourself.
