Like many Tacoma owners, I'm OCD about the condition of my truck. I hate door dings and cringe when people get close to my paint.

Sometimes, I'll go to the back of a relatively empty parking lot, furthest away from the door of the establishment, and double park next to a curb. That way, theoretically, no one can park close enough to me to ding my doors. I never do it in a crowded parking lot, or where there is the potential for not enough spaces.

Am I an asshole? Am I asking for someone to box me in for "double parking" in the middle of nowhere? Karma is a bitch.

These are my favorite parking spaces BTW...

I agree with you. 100% park in the furthest spot. Another 150 yd walk is healthy. I’ll park in my “designated” spot tho. Not an asshole in my book. I had to train my wife tho. First year of her 4Runner ownership cost me $250 and almost our marriage haha.

I agree as well, get exercise and keeps your paint nice, a winner all the way around.
Had this one for 23 years and 412,000 miles and paint is still VERY nice.

No matter how empty the lot or how far away I try to park, someone always has to park next to me. I just don’t understand what the hell is wrong with people!1084659F-BAFF-4DDC-97D5-0570D68C1A20.jpg

I park far away or if I have limited options I try to find the nicest cars/trucks to park beside as those owners usually give enough of a shit about their own ride that they won't ruin yours.

I also try and park beside Tacomas and 4Runners because I'm a dork like that.

Nothing is wrong, people are cows. Cows always do this. One cow goes to the other corner of the field, the others follow. Moo.

I always go for spaces next to a pillar or with parking on only one side. This is a spot I dream of, lol. Nice truck.

Just get some running boards or sliders and never worry about people dinging your doors again.

Ill park really close next to dbag parkers knowing theyll just fuck up their doors on my running boards if they get rowdy.

It’s the same reason that someone will drive up and tail you in the right lane when the left lane is open. Lemming mentality.

Taking up 2 spaces attracts undesirable attention, even if you have parked in the middle of nowhere. I like to park where the store employees park. This is away from the entrance where the careless people park, and allows me to blend in, not attract attention.

For the same reason, my vehicles never have bumper stickers.

Hilarious dude! That’s exactly my scenario. I can park in the desert and by the time I’m back a car is right next to my truck. It’s like someone is always following me wherever I go just to park next to me. Lol

If you select an end spot you at least reduce your exposure by 50%, and the running boards help as well.
