You know what it is that Rock Solid Toys does to the insides? I've heard they have some secret sauce that goes beyond just swapping the input shafts and bifurcating the shift stick receiver for twin stick conversions.

What are you asking for it?

 

BTW, the atlas inputs that we need for our trucks are jeep 23 spline so that particular bit of info is correct, it's just the Toyota side of the spud that's potentially wrong

 

I emailed Wyatt at RST to see if he has any ideas.

I swear I saw somewhere (maybe low range) that has an adapter set up that will allow an atlas to work with the MT.

Definitely prefer my auto to the manual Toyota pickups I've driven off road. Idk why people hate autos so much lol

Because I hate how they won't hold overdrive and downshift unnecessarily. I like having full control of the vehicle. Once I have a TacoBox or atlas I'll crawl just as well as an auto.

 

Oh? How about an M2HB? Or a full auto AR? Or the automatic wire feed in a MIG welder (without that we'd still be using sticks to weld).

 

As long as it wasn't the 4WD automatic they put behind the 22RE in the mid to late 80s. That thing made the engine seem as gutless as a 3 HP lawnmower engine, while the same engine with a manual didn't seem gutless at all...not powerful like a V8 or anything but surprisingly capable for a 4 banger.

On that note, if I did a lot of towing, I think I'd rather have a manual. They just make better use of the available power when towing, IMHO, but that's honestly the only situation I'd rather have a manual in.

Well poop. Looks like my gauge cluster needs to be repaired or replaced. Got a p0500 code. I believe it’s the cluster since my cruise won’t work and the ultraguage reads 0mph when moving.

 

Sounds like a VSS.

 

From what I’ve read about it, it could be a sensor but my speedo still reads. The vss sends the signal to the cluster then the cluster sends it to the ecu. It seems like the output from the cluster is a fairly common failure on 12-15 trucks. Since my speedo reads but my ultraguage doesn’t it leads me to believe it’s the cluster. The computer thinks the truck isn’t moving hence the zero speed on the UG.

 

Ordered the adapter, see how well it fits then I’ll decide on the 2 speed vs 4 speed. @allenfab thoughts?

Atlas’ are out about 7 weeks from what I’m being told.
