Here’s my current garage setup. Working on getting more dumbbells. Having a set of spotter arms for my rack does help with squats/ bench. I also have friends that come over periodically to lift, so I save my heavier sets for those days when I’ll have a spotter.

Damn you guys have some nice setups!

I will admit I have no accountability unless I am around others. I am the worst. I just cannot motivate myself when I am alone like that. Props to you guys!

Yes, they’re the Reebok Power Lite Mid shoes that Mark Bell helped with a while back.

    Serious question.

Supps/pre/etc are placebo for some and not 100% necessary. Facts.

Shoes... are lifting shoes something that should actually be considered and bought or are they more of a “if you have the money, they won’t hurt” thing?

they help with ankle mobility and maintaining hip angles in squats. they're a tool like belts and wraps that depend on the goal of the user

they def help with squats and oly movements

the less your body has to do jointwise to achieve the same optimal lifting geometries, the better imho. not many people have the hip and ankle mobility to get a deep squat without some help

I wouldn’t say supplements are a placebo. They either work or they don’t. Certain people aren’t immune to the laws of physics.

@Konaborne said it. Its an aid thats helps in certain circumstances. Its best to the squat in shoes with higher heels and proper footwear matters when you get to certain levels of lifting.

As a newbie you are better off lifting without belts, straps, shoes etc. to improve your support strength. As you progress those things may be a better idea.

Had to hit the road for work for a month... challenge accepted. Goodbye gains. Guess I’ll be doing cardio and body weight workouts to maintain.

Anyone make it to the Arnold this weekend? It was super packed, but a good trip. Met a handful of people and wish I could of met more but it's hard to locate the people with such a big event
