Snow until midnight. Still on call and getting called. But at least it isn't for surgical procedures in the morning. They are kind of important...

In the morning will clear the drive. Go to Costco and get protein been since last Saturday since I have grilled. Need to grill but going to be a lot of work to get to them. Old faithful.

    nova on alert.jpg

Need to knock down the icicles first. Lady to the South got hit one with one dropping on her at Dollar General today and ended up in the hospital.

Stockings with CaCL can't keep up with this shit.

And I worry about my dogs being hard mouthed on birds LOL.

Good luck and hope it works for you. The pain gets old and the 1,000mg a day only goes so far.

Had a shipmate that I became good friends with that his father was a stone mason for Disneyland and he helped build it. He was from Anaheim or as he called it Anal Slime. They had a cabin on Big Bear and I went up there many times with him. Solid line of lights from vehicles coming down the mountain on Sunday when everyone was leaving. Bumper to bumper. Too damn many people. Way too many people. And that was in the 70's.

Came in like a lion can only hope that it leaves like a lamb. LOL... Hey it is my fantasy don't bust on it :)

What is this bullshit about a sailor blush? Takes a lot for a sailor to blush, at least a Chief. Well a room full of ED Charge Nurses trying to agree on a standard can, trust me. But that is about it.

It is called an opportunity. Grasp it and wrangle it to your benefit. If you want to. If you don't there is no excuse for bitching and complaining down the road. It is what you make of it, I call it life. Can ride the bull or be the bull. Pretty sure you said that you don't deal with life or death situations not long ago. That is some real stress, but is rewarding as long as you succeed.

Worked in many vertical markets before I retired from the Navy. There are managers and leaders. And some jobs are rewarding. Others erh not so much.

But only you know if it is worth it. And if your happy doing what you're doing. You also don't know what you don't know until you do it and push yourself. My 2 cents and worth what you paid for it :)

Firestone Air Bags. Was a great choice for me for both towing and carrying heavy loads.

i swear left and right. as my attitude goes south so does my language. i don't think i've uttered a full sentence in the last few months that i didn't throw in at least one four letter word in the mix. soemtimes many. and the guys in the shop still stop and say "pardon my language" when they swear in front of me. do you see me apologizing? no. just let the fucks and shits fly with abandon!
i like what i do in that, for the most part, i can just hide in my corner and work on drawings and stuff. i don't have to talk to people much. i dont have to make a lot of decisions. just leave me alone and let me do what i do. a promotion would seriously screw with that and i don't want it.

I can honestly say that I totally understand what you're saying, on all accounts. Ended up at the #1 ranked Medical hospital in the US, if not the world judging by the tail fins on the planes South of town. Duke in NC didn't call me but they did. And my father was dying of cancer figured I could help support those that could cure it. Sure as hell not smart enough to cure it myself, but could help those that could. Timing was right. And watched them save my youngest son of Stage IVB cancer a couple of years ago. Was the right move for me in the end.

Large enough that I had a choice to go technical or managerial. I went technical, which is kind of a trap. Don't have to sit around for meetings all the time and I just make things work. And am an adviser to the managerial staff.

Gave my parallel edge drawing board to my youngest sister years ago who ended up being the manager at EMC host testing lab. And I can understand being in the corner and leave me alone. I can vault your drawings no matter what program you are using, even stupid autocad xrefs. ProE or any others. Or fetal monitoring strips. Revenue Cycle documents. Or outside materials which is what patients bring from other facilities.

Leave me the hell alone, just let me fix things and design High Availability Systems. And Disaster Recovery. But am also required to justify and explain to management why. And how in plain English. Ugh that one sucks LOL.

In your situation it is smaller and yes you are correct it would seriously screw up the leave me in a corner and just make things happen and work. I understand that. Totally. But there is a big picture to look at. I did enough baby sitting in the Navy didn't want to do it in CivLand. And still don't. I miss Rob, we both sang on the same sheet of music when it comes to that. But in a small environment it isn't so easy to toe that line for you..

Bottom line is when in a small Org you don't have as many options. If you trust that the next manager (probably not a leader) is going to be good then stay where your at. Head down. But IME it never seems to work out that way. I would be the first to agree with you that management sucks in the private sector where money is the primary focus. And you have to report to someone and their leadership even though you may not agree with it. Not an easy situation but having control to some extent helps IME.

If you can do both, technical and leadership - not managerial bullshit, you would be sitting in a good position. But it is always a risk. Your tolerance to risk and what you think you can bring to the table in benefits overall to the Org and others is what determines if it is worth it to you. And of course your personal risk assessment. Staying where your at and doing what your doing is a choice in itself. Is it the right choice overall? Or can you make a difference in the lives of others, in a positive way. That to me is rewarding even though I prefer to keep my head down.

Most people just keep there head down and work. And there is nothing wrong with that either.

    Morning
A few storms coming in this weekend. Then a bigger one Sunday night into Monday.

    Great..
Nothing more enjoyable then working on dripping/salty cars all day during a major storm.
Then coming home and driving down your road and looking at all the nice cleared driveways.
Then realize they are all retired and don’t have to be anywhere. So then you pull up to your drive and
You think it’s over there somewhere.. lol...
I have wanted to so many times to just have my aim off just a bit and
Blow all my snow into their drive.... ROFLMAO.....

    Actually a real cool story.

This scenario happens to everyone all the time.
    No biggie.
But I had just moved to this house and it was the first winter.
We had a 6” storm with blowing wind and snow and I had a rough day.
So I imagine what’s in store for me when I’m get home.

I pull up to the drive and it’s clear.
I looked at the mailbox to make sure it was my house..
Come to find out the old dude across the street must have had his ensure that day
Cause he did my drive too.
    Never met him before, nothing...
So the next storm was bigger.
We were both out and I got done first.
I went over and started on his also.
    We never said a word.
So after we were done he motioned me into his house.
    Introduced each other.
    Met his wife.
    Had coffee.
Talked like we had known each other for years.
    He was a great neighbor...

Good morning friends. As @bucktales mentioned, it's snowing. More possibly tomorrow night too. I have a visit to the barber this morning. Was planning on losing the beard but with the snow and cold hanging around, it may be just a trim...
