This has me the most nervous lol. I've already decided im gonna take the FJ boot and fit it around the tranny, get it put in place and then trace the outside of it to help me figure out where to put my holes in the floor. Definitely nervous, but itll be worth it to have a reliable setup and the ability to convert to AWD more easily down the road.

Yes sir this one, has a boot for the trans shifter and the t-case. Trying to keep things as OEM looking as possible. It's just so damn purty, i gotta find a 6spd fj now..

I'm not sure and the installs I've seen don't clarify. I believe you'll need to have the hole done in order to fit the case.

My plan for the hole is to mount the case without a shifter installed, mark where the hole needs to go, drill a few small pilot holes to find center, pull the case, use a hole saw to cut the final hole, mount the case again, verify, trim as needed with a Dremel, pull the case, install the bottom seal, install the shifters, install the case, torque it properly, then proceed from there.

The 4/5 o'clock and 7/8 o'clock position by the transmission shifter. When I add the crawl box I'll but that shifter at the 6 o'clock.

    I want this -

I kinda figured it would be close without the shifter installed.

Good idea, im gonna do this as well. Do a little bit at a time. With a tranny jack, it should be a piece of cake getting it into place

Yes sir, going to use both boots from the FJ 6spd shifter and take the wire out of the FJ one and have my mom sew the wire out of the taco boot in it. I think 05Taco4x4 did this. Im basically doing what he did except mines a v6 and he has the 4 banger

What kind of tranny Jack? The cart looking one? How much was it? Where'd you pick it up at? Mind if I borrow it after spring break? I haven't come up with a good plan for lifting and dropping the cases aside from the dead-roach technique.

I'd ask if you think she'd be up to doing my shift boot but I think it's time to replace it altogether. I'll see if I can find a decent auto upholstery shop and get something custom. Maybe have my TW handle stitched in just for funsies.

Lol i asked her earlier and she said she may not be able to do it since it's thicker leather. So i may be looking for an upholstery shop as well

I think Redline Goods can make you a custom boot. I think that's who made Homertaco's. Or at least the stitching and leather looks just like it.. i have one in my green truck. Stitches would suit you well

Crappy pic, but the quality of their stuff is really good

Maybe some shag carpet on the ceiling and a mini fridge in the steering wheel instead of an air bag. I'm cool with that.

I have not but I am no shit impressed with some of the things guys do with their rides. Not really my thing, but it's impressive all the same. I don't get it, but I'm sure there's tons of people that don't get what I do with mine.

I will, however, relentlessly make fun of 4wd trucks with 14" lifts, deep dish rims, 33 light bars, insane drop hitches, bro lean, and low profile tires.
