Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Color me confused, but is this ACIS optimization already part of 1.05, or will there be another update released “soon”?

 

If you have already flashed a 1.05 file,click update and then follow part 3 of the instructions which deal with flashing your truck

Mat just did all this testing on the dyno yesterday, so it will be a new release.

Wondering if those changes will port directly into the 91 octane performance tune, or if we will have to flash the 87 tune in order to take advantage.

 

Ok I am on 1.05( which is very luggy)
When you refer to following part 3 of the instructions do you mean on ovtunes website
Or when flash manager asks me if I’d like to update to the new flash manager?

 

@OVTune so your comment about getting the tsb taking ecu from 04b03 to 04b04 - does that mean those of us running 1.05 new release 04b03 tunes (only base now) should get the tsb to run 04b04 tunes? I thought the "tunes" incorporated the tsb? If so I need to find someone local to flash TSB for me as dealers here are nada on that. Anyone in Denver have? PM me if so.

 

That's it! I couldn't put my finger on it, but it's the sudden surge thing that was bugging me when on 87 Performance, i don't think Base gives you that surge. Either way, i am excited to flash back to 87 Performance as soon as this update rolls out, THANKS MAT!!

Click update,open p5 flash if you are dongless or pcm,connect to truck,check the FM chart (truck year,etc..),choose the tune you want,click download,click download location and then flash your tune.

@OVTune given the success of this tune with the 3rd gen taco, what are you're thoughts on the 4.0 for the 4runner? Specifically the 5th gen. I'm guessing thing isn't changing any time soon.

 

Be sure to get your ecu I’d correct—-04B03 for example—or that will screw the pooch

 

You don’t need to be connected to the truck to download tunes. You just need to know your ecu revision so you download the proper tunes.

If you try downloading something and it fails, it’s because that tune isn’t currently available

 

Just got mine in the mail but can’t tune till Sunday. Anyone know if a 19 will be 03 or 04? If it’s 03 I need to apply the tsb with tech stream before the tune?

 

19 wont be 03/04. It’ll be a60/61 most likely.

 

neither, those are older year ECUs, your 19 will have a different number, not sure what it is but it should have the TSB updates.

 

Gotcha. Are the tunes available for that? I only see people mentioning 03/04.

The computer does not need to be connected to the truck to download the tunes to your computer.

 

All 2018s and all 2019s are fully supported. I will have more info about how our latest development will be implemented when we have a chance to get caught up.
