@ARCHIVE Eric, I am ready to order a set of hangers.

I am running custom Deaver springs (to handle the weight of my truck), 3" lift, Bilstein 5160 shocks, and airbags, since I tow a teardrop occasionally.

Do you suggest my running the stock shackle, or one of yours?

Reusing stock shackles with HH is fine, are 5160 long enough for 3" lift?

I was gonna say, I’d recommend the B110 with that set up if you don’t wanna go relocate. You’ll need +4 longer brake lines though

The 5160s are the "longer" ones Bilstein came out with last year, specifically for Tacomas.

Yes, they could be a little longer...

I do have 4" longer brake lines.

IIRC, the 5160s I am running are about as long as the B110s. I will have to look up the part number when I get home to verify.

They’re about 2” shorter, unless they’ve changed them within the last couple months. Regular 5100 are 24”ish, 5160 about 25.5” and b110 27.5”

It worked out great. I didn't get the crossbar because spare tire. I was about to order everything from Archive direct, but his stuff showed up on FS section, and he was 5 minutes from me. Save at least 5 weeks of waiting. These things are awesome.

Yep...it wasnt too bad on some of them but some that just couldn't keep the drill point in the same spot.

    I mis-remembered. :(

Extended length is only 24"ish. So I am shock-limited on my droop travel.

Unless I change them - again.

    Whole lotta stuff
I’m on 5160s right now, and switching them out for 2.5x14”s. What’s nice about the B110s is they’re the perfect travel zone for drooped out rigs and they are cheap. I think RCD puts a custom tune in them as well.
Yes, bilstein’s 2.0 /w a remote reservoir when they make it for OEM vehicle applications (anything stock, like a taco or F150) are given the name 5160. The 5165 series are the universal version of the same shock by bilstein, but can be ordered in custom travel lengths. You’d just have to go through a dealer or direct through Bilstein US to get them made if they’re not off the shelf.

It’s the same naming scheme bilstein uses with the 5100s for OEM and 5125 for universal. The B110s are technically a 5125 which are both non-reservoir. RCD just markets them for a specific application. Hope that clears up a few things.

PSA: If you’re going to be running any sort of shock relocate, get the poly bushings if you keep stock shackles.

This may not be news to all, but I was blown away how much stock bushings limit droop. I jacked my truck up, unbolted the lower shock mounts and let it droop out. It was right inline with the b110 at full droop, just like my friend aith the same leafs and stock rear hangers. I was really disappointed I didn’t get the extra droop like advertised.

Then I noticed my shackle angle (this is full droop)

    3904D485-2193-40A0-92A5-AD23BB5641D6.jpg

Those bastards should be horizontal. So I loosened the bolt holding the shackle to the hanger. Drooped all the way out to horizontal, which lowered tires another 4” or so. I was so damn happy.

Again, this may not be news to all but I wanted to share.
