If you don't wheel much or live down washboard roads you should be fine.

The plan is for some wheeling but mostly camping but some spots will need to be accessed by gravel/forestry roads.

I think @WormSquirts wheels harder than most people on here :D. Granted, ~100 lbs is a lot of weight in one area.. but most people dont have issues according to the forum at least

Likely you will be fine, but it's definitely a possibility to have some damage there (none visible). This is after a couple years of hard abuse in my truck that sees thousands of Km's of rough dirt roads doing 80-100km/h, some air time, lots of rock bashing, etc etc

I have the same set up, dual 25/35 and it's a lot of weight on the corner. But it's a terrible spot even from the factory and going from a single group 27 to my dual batteries only added about 20 lbs. So if/when our fenders rip it would have happened eventually anyway.

I've been thinking for at least 2 years that I need to fab a brace but haven't had time or an inspiration on how to support the battery tray to the frame but still accommodate the body mounts. It just keeps getting pushed down the priority list.

    No.

Those are going to run constantly without some relays and switches.

my question is will the 6-8AWG wire be sufficient to send the load to the bus bar over the 12inch or so run
what I did (notice the sPOD)

What your total power draw for everything connected to the bus bar? Assume everything is running simultaneously.

everything on the busses would normally hook up to the battery posts I just installed these and added one larger guage wire off the battery post vs 4 or more

Run 4g minimum. If you ground your neg. bus bar to the frame and battery, you can ground your accessories to your frame and save money on wire if you want.

Just depends on your set up and what you do. When I’m in camp I have a fridge running, lights in the bed, annex, and tent, and am always charging something. I also have a boost pack as a back-up but it’s nice to know I will be able to start the truck in the AM without it. Very few people actually need a dual battery set up. Companies like off-grid exist because people want them. I wouldn’t have it if I didn’t need it.

What is the combined wattage of the lights, compressor, and fridge?

I don't have a fridge I was just using as an example. as for the lights/compressor :notsure: LEDs cant be much and the comp doesn't run long since I don't have a tank to fill (unless I'm using for tools/air ups)

ill probably mover everything back to the secondary battery on the mil connectors once I get the OGE set up

Well, without knowing what wire type you have the 4awg is probably my good to ~80 amps. Multiple by 12V would give you a total 960W. Factor of saftey of 2 and you can probably safely run 480W.

I have heard good things about the NorthStar batteries. What size battery are you looking at?
