@Nitori the reservoir has to clear the bump stop mounts that are rivited on. ( see pics) I think that’s why it appears angled in picture. If it is truly angled it’s not much. Sorry to much snow and to frickin cold to crawl under and measure things at this time.

I meant if the reservoir is parallel to the frame, or if the reservoir would contact the frame if you could magically make it longer.

Haha no worries man I appreciate all you’re doing. I may just have to fabricate my own mounts but this has been a huge help!

No added weight at the moment. Eventually want to add sliders.

Just set the preload to 10mm/13mm. Will try to install kit next week.

Hey friends I'mbI'm lea towards the bp51 kit but have heard alot of shops tell me that the oil is thick and they won't do we'll iin the cold. I do mild off roading here in Utah ripping down washboard roads and occasional overlanding trip. Nothin too crazy but want something quality that lasts a while. What are your long term opinions so far on this vs icons or fox for those who have run those other kits?

I installed mine last spring. I didn’t notice much of a difference at all through the summer and through this past winter.

So I’ve asked about the rear end before and these shocks.

What is the lift amount that they are designed for before you have issues? With my soft Dakar’s, I am at 2 inches of lift with no weight in the bed. I want to get another 1/2 inch or inch back there somehow.

I have 31s on now but plan on putting on 33s this summer

I'm at 4" of lift in the rear at the moment with Heavy Dakars and only a shell. I'm adding rear bumper soon, but they ride great now.

Ok, so right now I have the front set at 5mm with no extras, the soft Dakar pack, and 31 inch tires. I got between 2-2.25 inches of lift all around

I just ordered the sso front bumper and plan on putting on 33s this summer.

I want to go up to 2.5-3 inches of lift. Easy to adjust up front.

What can I do with the rear end?

So quick question, difference between bp51 at 2.0 and fox 2.5s, watched a video saying these shocks are not the same as a true bypass shock?

IBP are a bit different to EBP but I think Bens point is that it’s not a true 2.5 shock. So while it used a 2.5 shock body it still uses a 2.0 piston.

While a King 2.5 IBP still uses a 2.5 piston.

Copy that are you still happy with your purchase really leaning towards these as the arb people have been awesome and the deal at headstrong looks great. I also like the adjustability in the shock as well.

Would this shock perform the same as a fox 2.5?

I actually went with King 2.5s because they are a better overall shock and were cheaper.

As far as performance, a 2.5 will perform better but it depends on your use.

Thanks Joe, looking at something that will ride betterbet the street be able to handle our bed tent and shell and be able to take me down to moab and drive on some of the crappy back roads faster and smoother. Headstrong mentioned possibly looking at the fox level 2 kit with Dakar and extended length shocks as a good alternative.

You do not want the BP51s if you are looking for a better ride on the street. They do however perform awesome off road.

Has anyone had issues with this setup topping out or “clunking”?

It was talked about a little bit earlier in this thread as a result of too much preload.

They originally came set at 20mm, but it appears arb is shipping them set at 0 or 5 now to address that issue
