Pro tip: next time buy them on Amazon from Benchmark abrasives. Most welding supplies like to rip people off on those things.

Hey everyone, Is this the best thread to keep up with 1st gens? I wanna swap out my upper ball joints and the gasket behind the oil pump cover today. Searching for threads to make sure I have the most appropriate tools before pulling it apart.

I was thinking about the puller to get the upper ball joint out and how to get the Phillips bolts out of the cover.

Noticed the truck sounded a little different this morning, apparently chopping it st the axle wasn’t enough

It was a fun build. It was 2wd with 260k. Got 9700 and I kept my roof racks and sound system

..."minor accident"... That thing looks like it was ground zero in a F5 tornado.

    3” lift. Sway a ways 2.5 on 285 75 16 and much more
There will be a winch. Added the 2 tabs inside the winch area to help hold the structure together. But once all done I’ll have a smitybilt winch in there.

    I have mods
Finished all the welding and then did some grinding. Still have more grinding to do but the majority of it is done.

Then threw some primer on the finished parts to give it some color and see how it's looking a little better.

The sound of pulling your tranny to find out. Sounds like my throwout bearing when it was toast but that was with the clutch out.

Finally got my nephew to go offroading with me, but he didn't last very long in the pouring rain lol. Got to blast around some muddy fire roads though and he got a kick out of it.
