That's why I bought the New 20$ empty shackles, thanks for the tips!

The Dakars are the only springs that can droop ok with stock hangers because they are short, BUT it binds the main leaf hard and the pack fans out and can even catch on the stock hanger. From your picture full droop with HH has the pack all together.

Public service announcement to readers: it is NEVER ok to run shackle bolts loose in the hangers for any amount of time. The solution is poly bushings

Oh yeah, coulda made that more clear to not run a loose shock bolt but figured that was obvious. That was just a test to make sure it was the bushing binding and not something else going on.

Ha, I just had to make it explicit to others because it has been done before and I don't want people to wear out hangers. I do have the poly bushings you were asking me about

Haha I hear you. Better to err on the side of caution and make it clear.

One of my buddies bought the ES kit that comes with leaf and shackle bushings but didn’t use the shackles ones, so he’s giving them to me tomorrow. If they don’t work out for some reason I’ll hit you up.

So my HH with the 4.5 shackles from Archive are not going horizontal (I have King 14" smoothies)

    Is this not correct then?

I haven’t the slightest clue about the longer shackles. I thought those were for SUA.

Tires are off the ground there? Have you tried with shocks disconnected?

Didn't disconnect shock, tires were just barely touching the floor from what my installer sent to me.

Touching the floor is touching the floor. Mine got stuck flat and it took some driving to drop back to normal. A slow lift might not allow the spring to do it's thing

Could also try what I did and loosen that shackle bolt as a test. It shouldn’t bind with the poly bushings, but who the heck knows. Are you SUA?

I might just need some more miles on it, not a big deal. Just curious from others with similar setups.

True I could test it that way. Just being lazy.

I'm SOA, have Archive "Dual Sport AKA U571" Deaver springs.

Are your brake lines long enough? Check out if anything is hanging it up, also measure the amount of shock shaft exposed.

So I’ve been chipping away at my rear shock relocate and getting it all dialed in, and every time I hit full droop I’m impressed with the hangers. Swapped in poly bushings today.

    C1061048-9B27-4C05-B511-C62828DFB796.jpg A7B9C84C-272C-4248-8A90-B7B64464C86C.jpg 8C278825-C79C-4898-BB1F-1571B6FEBC3B.jpg F6BBC0C2-C23D-44E0-ABED-3C8D70566459.jpg

And if anyone is curious about what brake line length to run, I have dakars and my +4” are a hair too snug for my liking. So this was my cheap fix that worked excellent (1.1” worth of washers). I would get +6” at least if you plan on running a shock relocate.

Spring over which is what the truck has will give it more up travel.

More high speed it's all spring under.
Plus you will need to relocate your spring perches under the axle
