Big thanks to @EricL , @Daria , @2Toyotas , @Pirate1975 & sorry if I forgot to mention anyone else. I am going from Miami, FL to Laurens, SC. I will be leaving Laurens at around 10:00am & heading to Pigeon Forge. I have Monday afternoon & all of Tuesday to do some water creek crossing trails. Just 1 or 2 I would be happy with. South Florida is sand & mud, no creek crossings. Looking for something that my truck can do without concern for getting stuck since I will be alone. My truck is a '15 DCSB TRD O/R 4WD, 2" front/2.5" rear lift, Diff breather mod & Duratrac tires). I've done a few road trips & walking trails in the Smokys since 2006 but never off-roaded anywhere there.

Thanks to the people mentioned above my choices so far are Hurricane Creek Rd or Chestnut Mountain Rd. I've seen videos of Hurricane Creek Rd & I see that I can turn back after the 1st creek crossing if necessary but I haven't seen any videos of Chestnut Mountain Rd. Trail.

Anyone have any links to videos of this trail?

EDIT: I found a couple of Youtube videos. I was apparently entering the name incorrectly.

PS. Dirt Devil is another one I saw & it's FULL of easy water crossings but it's 4 hours west of Pigeon Forge.

As stated, I would personally stay away from hurricane creek because of the recent incidents regarding private property and trash that's been left in the area.

I've ran chestnut mt and as far as I know, there aren't any creek crossings except for where the bridge is over HP creek.
Matter of fact, with as much rain as we've had, I wouldn't be surprised if the bridge was close to being under water.

It's a fun trail though, i'd like to hit it up once it dries up. I'm about an hour or so away from it.

If you go Monday, I might tag along. I’ve yet to run either of those trials, and to add to what @Matic said, I’m about an hour away also.

Remember the two small creek crossing before you get to the bridge, then there are two more wider ones after. We may not have seen the second when we had the big group there, but IIRC its just before the last gate.

The water crossings aren't as deep as the one at Hurricane, though.

Nice! If you hit the parkway from Linville and head towards Mt. Mitchell there is a moderate hike to Crabtree Falls..should be flowing with all the rain!

I have to admit I'm focused on that creek for the reason you stated.

I dont blame ya! lol. I love the water crossings. Any deeper than that one and I'd want a snorkel on the truck, though.

@TAC1 Another place that looks like it has a bunch of water crossings is Coppinger Cove Rd in Sequatchie, TN. I haven't been there, but seen some videos. Don't think I would do that one without company or a full set of self recovery gear.

    Just my personal opinion.
With as much rain as we've had in the upstate in the last 8 days or so. And you wheeling alone....
I would stay tf away from chestnut mountain unless you have a wheeling partner.

As you can see on my Avatar I've gone in deep HAHAHA! And that one was scary. My air filter was stained with that muddy water. That was at a place called Lazy Springs Recreational Park in Southwest Florida. This is how my truck looked when I was done. It's an '08 Prerunner 4.0 that I owned before my '15 4WD. Great truck! Pretty fun place for South Florida. It's all man made.

Yeah. I definitely will not go there.

    1) I value your opinion. You are way more familiar with that area than I am.
    2) I happened to see a video about an hour ago of some Jeeps out there and it was VERY muddy. I "may" have a riding partner. Someone who lives about an hour away. But 2 trucks in heavy mud can very well mean 2 trucks stuck.

I'm seriously considering Hurricane Creek. Just to the 1st creek & back out to I-40. Hopefully no issues with people out there. I'll make sure to stay on the trail. I've been told that the trail is fairly easy up to the creek & that's exactly where I want to go.

No. And I heard it's rough out there with all the rain that area has had. I also saw a video of some Jeeps going through there recently & it was very muddy.

If you go to hurricane to the first creek you won’t be on the trail very long.

Extremely. I'm still having flashbacks of when I was at Windrock last November where the mud was caked worse than you can imagine. I've never seen anything like it. And the mud here is just as bad, that red clay crap.
