Damn I had about $8,500 in damage with a bent frame.I came out pretty good I owed $10,000 they valued it around $16,000.And totaled it because it was over half the value.Had the option to keep it they actually gave me $543 paid it offAnd I kept it.2012 Tacoma dbl cab sr5 4cyl 210,000 miles.I got t-boned lady ran a red light.

 

Sorry for the loss bro. Glad you weren’t hurt nor anything else much more valuable was destroyed too. You'll love the 4Runner although I don’t have the high makamaka edition(it’s what we call the limited out here) I can assure you they’re a great vehicle.

 

I'm trying to stay out of this thread so I don't get banned, but I really don't understand this "take". So because we are all flawed beings, nobody gets to criticize someone over their mistake, no matter how serious and potentially harmful to human life?

Why would anyone bother sharing their story if all people are going to do is criticize? The whole point of the forum is to share information. If you're a jerk about it, no one will share. Or, they will only share success and not failure. We can learn a lot from other's failures/mistakes and the whole community benefits.

It's like you think this guy doesn't know he screwed up. He has stated he already feels awful about it. No need to patronize him.

 

Do you really think a guy venting about and owning his mistake on a public forum needs to be criticized? Maybe he posted as a reminder to others. Someone else will learn from this.

Man, sorry to hear about your truck. I can't imagine how you felt . So glad insurance took care of it. I have went many rounds with insurance companies over the years.Congrats on the new ride. I have used both versions of torches. Some turn off as soon as you release the button and others stay lit. Thanks for sharing your situation.
