I want to check this out, so it doesn't constantly shift like a 4 banger. But 600-700 bucks and all I get is better shifting essentially is a hard pill to swallow. I've tuned bikes and cars, turbo, non turbo, but each one equates to more power and better drivability. When I can tune almost anything else at half the cost for twice the benefit, I can't see spending the money on the truck. I'd like to drive someone's with it, would be nice. Hell can drive mine and see how annoying it is. 1st toyo I've ever owned and probs my last.

Haven’t owned many only 30, with 5 currently. There’s to many vehicles produced that I like or “always” wanted to not continue my madness. Always wanted a 4Runner so I bought my 97 and my infatuation with Toyota trucks/SUVs started there. I typically work on my own stuff and have found the build quality is typically above average compared to other makes. I may not always own a lot of Toyota’s but I’ll always have at least one. Hmm let’s see I have 1st gen 4RUNNER on my list, FJ40, Supra, 90s M3, 2001 Porsche Carrera...

The tune primarily remaps the ECU but Matt does give you a TCU correction tune that goes a long way to correcting the transmission problems. I've been running OVTune since version 1.03 and that made significant changes. 1.04 again made some additional corrections but I still felt I needed to regear my truck to 4.88s but when I loaded version 1.05, WOW!, BIG improvement. I no longer feel I need to regear. The truck can finally get out of it's own way. BTW - once you buy OVTune all new version releases are free. Just download them and install in the ECU.

Does the factory map have to be reflashed for each dealer visit. Does scan tool show its been flashed. Some Audi/vw tunes would see it was flashed when scanned and flag the car. Haven't looked into it, just what I've read in here.

Screw all this crap bout ADD and ADHD.

Got news for you... you’re a warm blooded American male.

As such, the are really only four main interests in life.

    1 faster cars
    2 younger women
    3 older whisky
    4. more money

You figured out the first two, time to move on to the second two...

No. Dealer doesn't see it. No one has ever come back and said Toyota saw an alternate tune. I've had mine to the dealer at least four times since I've loaded OVTune and nothing has ever been said.
I feel I get the most out of this and the speaker upgrade because I used those every time I drive the truck. And tires.

I just buy whatever looks fun. 95 Taco, 96 Taco, 93 Land Cruiser, 87 300zx, 02 Maxima, 97 Maxima, 97 Explorer, 03 Pathfinder. It's a problem but a good one for enjoyment. I keep my entertainment budget solely for the cars

I have had a number of vehicles.. although nothing close to 23...

started out with a 1989 Mercury Tracer 5spd MT (drove it for a year),

bought a 1999 honda accord LX 5speed manual (bought it used in 2001, had it until 2014),

    2006 I bought a 1974 CJ-5 AMC 304, 3 speed stick, with dana 20 t-case... I spent about 3 years and over $16k rebuiding it, still have it........

2006 bought a $500 1994 honda passport (isuzu rodeo) 4x4 automatic, had it for about 2 years GF, now wife drove it until the trans slipped so much it scared the crap out of me.

traded passport for a 2007 mazda 6 auto in 2008 had that until october 2018 when the #3 cylinder valve bent.

2013 I bought myself a mazda CX-5 AWD for Maine winters, and it got decent fuel economy (still have it, wife drives it now)..

2018 when the mazda 6 went down, and I got a quote for the repair.. I started looking for a new vehicle.. took a day off work...found my 2016 tacoma DCSB OR, and bought it, and drove it home that day... wife inherited the 2013 mazda cx-5..

    so that is 7

So I once bought a black 240sx at night (Bad idea, I know!) woke up the next morning only to realize it was like 5 different blacks

Sold it 3 days later. Got what I paid plus the $70 Gas money that went into it haha.

35 and over 45 cars, counting three motorcycles. Whats sad, I slowed down a lot in the last three years.

The money I have wasted. Id say the experiences I learned were worth the cost, but I could never have even bought a wrench for the money Ive dumped into vehicles and been way ahead for maintenance

I get the itch. I want something different few months or so. Over the past few years I have wanted a new half ton, a beater truck, used sports cars, a mahindra roxor, etc. In the end I am too cheap to get too serious about any of them just yet, maybe some day.
