well, I got rid of that ugly plastic crap. painted the chrome surround with black textured paint. and stuck on a bug deflector/nose protector.

I think it turned out pretty sweet!

Never seen that grille before. Looks nice. Which bugflector is that? Appears to be an AVS symbol I spot in the lower left. I like that it's matte/solid and not glossy/transparent.

Which one specifically? I think they make 2 or 3 different options differing in width and height (angle of the plastic with respect to the truck).

I think I am going to need more pictures to drop some more praise. How much did the grille set you back? Where'd you acquire it?

Does it sit down flush on the hood? Or would water get under it when it rains and not be able to get out?

it sit flush but it is mounted with adhesive foam tape. never thought about that. you think it would hurt anything if water got it in there?

it rains 7 months a year here.

I was just joking around with the guy, but I guess he didnt get it.

I bought one of those spoilers but returned it right back. It is held by a double sided tape which I didn't like. It is not air tight, so the crap and moisture will get in there and can cause some damage. I went clear bra instead, $90 on eBay bought me 18" wide bra which I installed myself.

I'm not familiar with how everything is situated. If the double sided tape is near the upper edge, forms a "dam", of sorts, and allows water to run/channel down to the sides of the truck (via gravity), I'd imagine all will be well. But if water runs down under the bug deflector and becomes trapped... well, that would concern me long term.

I like the appearance of this guard, but it looks to me like there's potential for water to be trapped somewhere underneath.

I've not seen one in person, so if anyone could shed light on this it would be appreciated.

the upper side, the side closest to the windshield has one solid strip all the way across the top so it should keep the moisture out.

I had a clear brah on lexus and it worked great. I was hoping to keep some bugs off the windshield. I am a wetland biologist so some of the sites I visit... it's a bug massacre.

and I really like the black over cement aesthetic :)
