    1. I hate the radio on the 2nd Gens. Under certain glare conditions you can't read the display. Be nice if the display had higher resolution too...the text looks like Nintendo quality from the early-90's.

    2. Same problem for the clock. That thing is useless in bright daylight with sunglasses on.

    3. The position of the drink holders is fine, but the 12V power receptacles and MP3 audio jack is in a bad place. Ever spilled a drink on your phone?

    See the problem?

    4. Although I don't have one, the position of the 110-volt bed inverter is silly. What if you wanted to power something while you're driving, use an extension cord through the window?

What I don't like about Tacomas are their owners. You know the ones. The guys who passed the lot, saw this shiney truck, took it for a test drive, or better yet, took it home for the weekend at the suggestion of the salesman .... this way all the neighbors would stop by and say, "What a great looking truck!" Then of course you HAD to buy it! Doing all this without taking a good, long look at the vehicle.

Now, Tacomas ARE NOT Camrys .... they are trucks .... a great truck mind you but still a truck.

If you wanted a smooth ride, with a kick ass sound system, whose transmission was flawless you should have bought a BMW.

Now, don't get me wrong .... if these conditions don't apply to you just smile and read the replies. [IMG]

Sitting back waiting for the flaming ..... [IMG]

:bananadead:Here we go , here's another "ITS A TRUCK" guy. This is 2010, Not 1962. Most trucks today come with these options already, and for what we are paying.............Most of these suggestions are legitimate and safety/theft related.

I appreciate your safety concerns. I suppose I may have been a little harsh on my fellow Tacoma owners.[IMG] So, I went back to re-read the addressed safety/theft related issues.

    Let's see:

Wish I had an outside temp gauge
    No I-pod interface
    no sunroof option
seats stain just by looking at them
no hood scoop option for TRD
    No heated mirrors
lack of a light in the bed
    My stereo reception sucks
    no built in bluetooth
    gps system
    DVD option
    ash tray
The floor mats in the back of my DC slide around and get bunched up.
    No RDS on the radio
    Power rear window
Can't open the side windows on the access cab.
    memory seats
    Light in the glove box
    Better speakers
a better cup holder in the console
    Lack of Bose sound system

Yup .... you were right and I was wrong ...... [IMG]

Soft paint, no sunroof, no projector style OEM headlights, no hood scoop option on OffRoad, no locking tailgate, no cargo lights, no direct/quality Ipod connectivity...those are about my only gripes.

The cab is put together poorly, e.g. I have to push up the ceiling near the light ' cause it keeps falling down. Also, I am on my 3rd radio ( kept shorting out when I would hit a bump)

Otherwise, I have shockingly great mileage (32 MPG HWY if I drive carefully), and have a smooth ride, lots o' room, and great off road capability even though it's just a standard 2wd Access Cab. We camp in it every weekend.

I also don't like how easily the undercarriage rusts! I'm on week 4 of having it and the rear axle is already rusting...and it's been nowhere near the beach.

Drums in the rear. Think it needs better brakes.

I've been thinking about that myself for a bit now. I bought my wife a 2007 Rav4 that has 4 wheel disc. First car I've ever had with that, and it stops better than all of them. Stops better than my corolla did (discs/drums, no ABS) despite being heavier, and stops better than my truck. In fact, I mashed the brake on a gravel road and it quickly slowed to a stop, without even a twitch from the ABS. Had I done that in the truck I know for sure the ABS would have kicked in and I would have been lucky to not go into a slide from that.

Now, it could be the Rav's traction and skid controls, but I'm wondering if it's the discs. Seems like I keep hearing discs stop better, but drums hold better (good for parking on hills with heavy loads). I've also noticed the truck stops quicker in 4WD.... Like maybe the front brakes are helping slow the rear wheels through the linked drive shafts more than the rear brakes do on their own....

I agree, once again long lists. Its not 1962 and yes other trucks have those options. Buy those other trucks then. Why did you buy a Tacoma if it did'nt have everything you wanted? Or atleast most of them.

Because I didn't need something the size of a tundra or as ugly as a Honda Ridgeline just for the heated mirrors they come with? :D

And I think you answered your own question with what you said in bold. That list is probably the few things lots of different people would like, but "at least most" of what they wanted was already on the truck. Not everyone wants that entire list.

Most of the guys that wants all this fancy crap are mall cruisers and don't need or use the Taco as a truck.

Maybe I'm not talking to you if your list was short. I said LONG lists. Its a pointless argument. Complainers like to complain, and misery loves company as they say. I really don't care, I just think its funny and a little stupid to pay for something that some people on here seem to really dislike. Atleast to me its alot of money to spend, and I wouldn't have spent it on something that didn't have the things I wanted and what I was looking for. Nothing against the one guy, But he took a picture of his IPhone next to what looks like a starbucks or something of the sort and was worried about it spilling on it! I just don't understand some people's thinking. Oh well, maybe better just to agree to disagree.
