I have 5 over 20 all around with 35 on the windshield. Really helps with glare at night. I have no problems seeing with replacement led bulbs

The real question is, have you paralleled park at night in low light situations?

5% rears, 35% fronts, 5% across windshield top. Friend has his windshield at 80% I believe, looks a really good, and not bad at night either. I've pondered it.

I detest tint. But it looks nice I guess. But I always prefer to have 100% of the visibility at all times, if it's too bright for me I just put on sunglasses. Last two cars I bought with a tint I took off within a day of ownership

Lucky you, in Va I’d be shot on sight with no warning with that tint job. Only cops can do that here, not us regular subjects.

Both my vehicles have 20 on the sides and 50 on the windshields. Couldn’t pay me to not have em tinted in South Carolina. Truck looks good op!

Tinting the windshield? Seems incredibly stupid to me.

Looks good I always do mine around 12% but only because my guy doesn’t have anything darker.

I normally do 5% on all sides and rear. No way I would put anything on my windshield. I have a nice pair of sunglasses for that.

Straw man argument here. That guy was driving in broad daylight with a suspended license. Should’ve have been driving anyways. I had 20% on my F250’s windshield, it’s not like you just can’t see out of the windshield during the day.

70% tint is nearly clear, but I normally go with 50%. The benefits of glare reduction, the UV protection, and heat rejection in the summer far outweigh it being not legal.

My AC runs FAR less in the summer with tinted windows and windshield. My truck is cooled down in a matter of a minute or two and the fan drops to the lowest speed within 5mins.

I see you are in commifornia, so you probably wouldn’t understand...lol

during the day it is fine. at night, no way you can see clearly enough to be safe. we have tinted one windshield in 20%, and I do mean only 1 in the 21 years our shop has been open. we WILL NOT tint one that dark again. we get at least 10 calls a week to do them darker but we just won't. they offer to pay more, sign waivers or whatever. still no dice. the darkest we will tint a windshield in our shop is 45%. and that is plenty dark at night. all of mine are 70% and I bet if I didn't tell you they were tinted you'd never even know it.

I'm curious OP, what film did your guy use to get you to 8%? I have been tinting for last 8 years and never ran across a film with that %. unless he used 15% and it gauges at 8%? not bagging, just like to know what other shops use.

You're right, I only live in a place that gets far more sun, and gets significantly hotter than NC. What would I understand about this.

I was just gonna say I'm surprised any shop would do this, even with waivers. Good on you guys!

    OEM, For now...
In my state you are required to have a Dr's waiver for any front-side window tint beyond factory. Front windshield would get you pulled over immediately.
    I think that your truck looks good BUT and a big one at that;
Just the other night, I almost hit a pedestrian standing in a turn lane who was wearing all black. I saw him at the last possible moment and swerved to avoid.
I was surprised that I even saw him at all, had I had front tint and had hit him...,
I guarantee that regardless of what the cops did, I would have been liable in a lawsuit and hit with a hefty judgement from any Jury in a trial.
