I've tried several different versions of techstream now and successfully upgraded to 04B04, but TS won't let me do anything else. Says the version I'm running is out if date and I need to upgrade to newest version. How is everybody doing other things with TS? What version are you running? Did i miss a step to be able to change vehicle settings?

Can't complain really. Only download so I could run performance tunes, but now I want to play with TS some. Thanks for the info

What version are you running? Sounds like you did miss a step. I'm running version 12.20.024 and everything seems to be working. Below is a link to download 12.20.024 with step by step instructions.

Been OVTuning since May and 105 with the new Flash Manager is the shiznet. Awesome job Matt.

I do need clarification and don't hate TW, but this thread is insane and searching is difficult.

Reading page one; Do I need to move from 04B03 to 04B04 to take advantage of Matt's latest magic, or what I flashed yesterday (91 base) has the goods?

Yes, if you want to flash the performance tunes now, or you can wait for the performance tunes for your EU version.

Been on 87 Base for 74 miles, getting 21.8 mpg so far, this is all stop & go surface streets except one 2 mile run on the freeway (to test full acceleration). Hope to do some miles on the freeway to see how good this gets. Yes, i have been driving a bit 'grandma' like, but not any slower than the average surface street traffic.

OBDII extension and splitter installed. I can now leave my Owl Cam plugged in and run my OBD Fusion app without touching the factory OBDII port. Plus it’s a convenient location for data logging and flashing.

Something to keep in mind. All the tunes released to date are tuned toward stock trucks! Thats why you hear so many stock truck owners complaining about tip in on the throttle but love all the other increased benefits. The truck owners with larger tires , re-gear, armor, you know the heavy ass trucks like my own like the tip in but may not be seeing benefits the stock are seeing with shifting, MPG'S. Mat will be setting up tunes for the heavy modified trucks in the near future or "SOON" so we will be seeing some hopefully matching improvements as the stock truck owners have been getting from the new current tunes!

I'm not usually much for hyperbole, but I've never seen an ECU-only tune for a naturally aspirated engine make this much of a difference. Basically, this 87-compatible tune not only lifts peak torque by 10 lbf*ft, but effectively brings the peak down from 5200rpm (stock 4B04) down to 3900rpm, and holds in there.

Put another way: using 225 wtq as a reference, the stock tune achieves it from 4550 to 5450 rpm, a range of 900rpm and very close to redline. An OVTuned 2GR Tacoma makes 225 wtq from 3700 to 6000 rpm, a range of 2300rpm. Obviously this doesn't even take into consideration all of the other drivability improvements he's made. Like you said, if this much improvement is possible on an 87-compatible tune, can't wait to see how the 91/93 tunes turn out.

(For comparison, a stock dual VVT 1GR on an uncorrected DynoJet looks like it makes about the same peak torque as an OVTuned 2GR, but holds the 225wtq bogey from around 2500-4800 rpm - the same range but 1200rpm lower. However, the 1GR falls on its face after 4800.)

First impressions, the downshifts are a little harsh on the brakes. I watched the gear status with OBD Fusion and saw it likes to shift from 3rd to 1st, skipping second when coming to a stop. I can live with it
