OK, I finally had a chance to get my Tacoma out on the beach. Wow did it handle the sand great. I love the way it pulls right through the soft, wet and jumps right out of the grooves when I want to take a different path. Also installed the 3D letters on the tailgate they really pop. 20190303_125334.jpg 20190303_125334.jpg 20190303_134554.jpg

Thanks, Freeman Park, Carolina Beach, NC. AKA North End. I really like the Barcelona Red paint color. When I saw it at the dealer it helped me pull the trigger.

Wait, hold on here... you were able to take a STOCK Sport off the pavement without a rear locker?!, and without a 3 inch lift?!, and damn, no Pro grill either? You are a brave man, my friend.

I knew it, looked like east coast to me. I was thinking OBX.

Thanks for the good advice. I did take it by the car wash and get underneath real well. I friend told me about placing a lawn sprinkler under the truck and letting it rinse for awhile. I may try that one too.

Enjoy riding the beaches. That what I do here in Delaware Surf Fishing. TRD Sports do it with no lockers with ease and without lifts!:mudding:

Hi DESportTRD, I plan to do a lot more Surf Fishing with the Tacoma now also. I love being able to take all the gear right there with the truck. It's going to be awesome when the Red Drum run this fall. Man I love landing those huge over-slot Drum. 199.jpg

WOW! Great catch! I may have to come down and surf fish at Carolina Beach.

Enjoy your ride on the beach. Only advice I have, is to air down your tires to 18-20 lbs. Wide flat tires is what gets you over the “main dune” on entry... and works well on loose sand. FishOn

I second that! I have been all over the the beaches on the OBX. Oregon inlete can be tuff as others. I have done it for years aired down and never been stuck. My old wagoner was the best of them all. Look out for quicksand!

Had a 2010 Wrangler before my Tacoma. Wrangler was also awesome in the sand with no lift or locker. Short wheel base made it jerky however in someone else’s tracks!

Big Thanks to all about advice on air down the tires. It is really awesome to see the difference in the tracks before and after air down. Thanks TW guys!

Best quote ever: "Quicksand has turned out not to be not nearly as big of a problem in adulthood as I imagined from childhood TV..."

I WISH we had more offroading around here. Lots of sand though.

I missed my chance to do some real sand offroading with a Jeep Wrangler while in Hawaii last year. I foolishly thought the signs saying "No powered vehicles" were to be taken seriously. Got passed by a dozen or so offroaders while hiking to the green sand beach.

I REALLY appreciate that fish. I am a trout fisherman, and I'm happy with one the size of my hand (that's what she said, LOL...)

Love NC too...2 of my brothers live in the Charlotte area. I have spent quite a few vacations on Ocracoke Island and it makes me very sad to read about the damage from the hurricane. I really think it's days of habitation are numbered.
