Just removed my flares I painted 8yrs ago so that I could sand and throw another coat on them. I has a couple of the weather strips peeling off at the ends and flopping around while driving. Bought the Amazon role and replaced all 4 while I had the flares off. Takes a little patience, but for the money you can't beat these. The fitment is ALMOST factory. I've had them on for going on 4 months now with no foreseeable issues.

You need to purchase new clips as you're going to destroy 80% of them removing the flares. Just like the aftermarket weather strip there are aftermarket clips that work just as good as the Toyota versions available on Amazon:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01A4MHYWA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I wouldn't remove the flares without having these in hand. I think I may have retained 1-2 clips per flare when I removed them and I did it carefully.
