Interesting.... If the specs are real, it would work fine for tuning. Keep in mind that a 5" screen is super tiny for using any normal desktop applications. You may have a hard time seeing text on the screen and using Techstream.

 

04b02 original dongle user here. Didn’t plan on going 04b04 but it seems the way to go now. Haven’t had any trouble flashing ever....but I seem to be having trouble with techstream.

Followed instructions to install 12.20.024

-downloaded and extracted the files from the link provided on the obdii365 site

-copied files to a new folder

-ran setup application from new folder, entered “name” and “company name” and installed. All seems well so far.

-copied MainMenu application from the new folder, went to Techstream properties and deleted the MainMenu.exe that was there and replaced with MainMenu.exe from folder.

-ran the MCVI driver install

-*this is where I seem to deviate from what’s supposed to happen*
Run Techstream from desktop, it brings up “techstream configuration”....asks for “area selection”....I select North America and click next. Then it asks for dealer name, dealer code and dealer phone.

Per instructions it seems I should get something else when launching Techstream.....not the configuration asking for dealer info.

Any thoughts on what I missed?

 

Nope, that is correct. Enter garbage information and click "next" or "ok". A window should pop up asking for a key. Use the one in the .txt file that was included with your download. Enter it, click okay and restart techstream.

 

You dont need mvci if you have tactrix. Just install FM and you're ready to rock and roll.

 

How do you clear dtc with TS

 

And you don't need to install the MCVI driver. Your using your Tactrix (OVtune) adapter and the driver is already installed.

 

Transmission/utilities/clear learning. I recommend clearing both ECT and ECU.

So switched over to 87 base today just to see how I like the improved 1.05 and it's pretty decent. I might leave it there for awhile and wait on the milder tip in performance 87 mat was testing Friday. The tip in was something I did get used to but didnt really love it

Yeah i selected open port. Still nothing happens when i try to connect to vehichle..

 

Big thanks to @KanPanic for saving my lazy butt! He came over and flashed my 04B03 to 04B04 and cleared the ECU and TCU learning. Can't say thank you enough! I downloaded and flashed 1.05 87 octane base. Ready for some driving! BTW - screw the Mother Ship for giving me the "can't replicate" bs when I asked for T-SB-0062-18. Done with them FOREVER!

 

What text file? I just got techstream from the website and they want $25 for the key to activate.
