So I ordered my Bushwacker fenders about 5 days ago. I ordered them from 4wheelonline.com and they came in really fast, only because these guys are in tampa.

Anyway, So I ordered the (Extend-A-fender) flares for my (2004 tacoma)

I did some research and figured this style bushwacker flare would be the closest to the stock fender flare as far as the size

So I pull them out of the box and everything looks good. I installed the edge trim and drilled the holes in the fenders, then I go to mount them and the fender doesnt even get close to covering up the existing holes from the stock fender, where those orange clips go :confused::confused:

the front bushwacker fender covered the holes fine, but the rear ones were not even close !!!!!

the part number on the box was the right one. (31911-11) for my 2004. Im assuming they put the wrong fenders in the box possibly??

have any of you had this problem with your bushwackers? I called bushwacker and they were not aware of the holes when removing the stock fender??? I just cant believe there hasnt been a complaint about this yet. Im still waiting on 4 wheel online to call me back about returning them

anyone have any input on this?? here are some pics of the holes so you guys can see what im talkin about. thanks for any help

if you look at the middle of the fender, It would cover the 3 middle holes, but would not cover the lower holes as you move down the fender. not even close

thanks dude. the scary thing is I think these are actually the right fenders for the truck. I hope they are not, but everything else seemed to line up fine when I held them against the truck. but this just sucks, and the shitty part is I cant install the stock ones because, 1, I broke all the orange clips, lol, and 2, I tried herculining them and it didnt come out so good. So now Im stuck with no fenders :(:(:(

but honestly theres something I like about the no fender look

the tires stick out a little bit now from the body!! looks kind of good. if there were no holes i might just leave it lol

are you sure you are not trying to put the front ones on the rear?
I'm not trying to be a dick, we've all done dumbsh*t like that before, just thought I would throw it out there.

    Edit:
Nevermind, I see looking at the pics the rear would have the notch for the gas door and you already mounted the front...

so in light of that, I would say yes it is perfectly possible the put the wrong ones in the box
is there an part number on the inside of the flairs?

i dont have flares but if you tape the holes from the inside with air duct tape and herculine over it it makes a pretty cool appearance

me minus the tape, you just fold one peice over so its not sticky, and then tape it to the underside where the hole is

I honestly hate the look of the stock flares. They look so cheesy.

And I love the look of the no flares look, so long as the truck is lifted and has bigger tires.

The no flare look with our stock makes it look too "base model" for me. I just the front and rear fenders just flared out of the body itself like the old school trucks did.

Interesting....I thought this was an old thread when I found it today. I bought Bushwacker Extend-a-Fenders for my 2001 Tacoma today and had the same problem - they don't come close to covering the factory holes. I called Bushwacker, no response yet. Luckily the place will take them back and I didn't try installing them yet.

This is the only mention I can find online about this. Maybe the factory made an error?
