Thanks for the feedback guys! I'm going to leave them off for now because I still haven't figured out a good way to fishmouth the end going to the main hoop. I like the idea of doing kickers off the main hoop, like @Speedytech7 has on his tube bumper. I have enough tube for those and then small posts coming up on the ends where the holes are for the headlight hoops. Might be interesting that way, I'll have to play with the looks.

For those that are interested, the bumper weighs in at 96.5 lbs with just the main hoop. There is nothing supporting it other than the scale here.

Got the backside primered. Need to run out for some more paint and then I'll get the backside painted and let it sit until tomorrow, flip it and prime and paint the front side.

I'd lend a hand if you think you can make it until fall. It really is a weekend project if you move slow. Did mine in a day during the engine swap portion of my summer nightmare.

You got like 3 years out of it. But when I drove it, it also felt horribly out of adjustment. Really where the engagement was it actually felt more broken than out of adjustment but there isn't much to break. You gonna go with a nicer clutch this time?

Make sure you keep a nice tight arc. Weld current goes down dramatically with longer arc length. Not to mention, you have to keep the gas envelope on the weld til it starts to cool.

    Concur.

Also, breaking loose and applying final torque should ALWAYS be done with a flare nut wrench.

Deleted the LSPV and installed a MPV next to the MC. Went pretty smoothly, given that I used copper-nickle lines to make the interstitial line at the back, and made a new line from the MC to the MPV, and from MPV to the junction on the frame rail. Bled everything down, works a treat. It appears that 100% to the rear brakes is just fine in my case, but I have the ability to dial it down at least. I am able to lock up the front brakes before the rear, surprisingly enough. That said, these are old BFG ATs, and I've never cared for them- they slide all over have place

Also removed the 4l wheel well washer bottle and installed the 2.5l in the under hood area.I have it in with just one bolt holding it, as I have cruise and the OEM location isn't available. I will drill a hole and install a M6x1 nutsert and that will be done. But first i have to figure out how to do that without buying the tool for one install. My nutsert tool won't fit in the area.

Wasn't welding anything for the truck but I drove the truck to get there. Does that still count? Still not great but I feel like my welding skills are getting better. 20190302_153220.jpg

I love the hopper brace look on my Elite. Be a nice way to go.

Eh. It's used and abused and now also getting old. Shits bound to break and honestly for you it's due. You've made it last a long time with very minimal maintenance work. Now things are just wearing out. Is almost a 20 year old truck haha

You don't have to do the Tundies and if you do, be smart about it and don't buy the expensive brake lines everyone tells you are required because there are cheaper options that I can link you to. That banjo bolt might be stripped.

Thanks and yes I’m also going after the same elite bumper design. Did you put a winch in yours?

Sounds like a big front end refresh! Can do some gusseting while you've got it apart.

I have "cool" red ones... wouldn't recommend it. Get Napa remains.
