Do you still have the '18 X5M? I thought about consolidating my last two vehicles (a Porsche Cayman and an Acura RDX) and getting a sport SUV. The X5M and Cayenne GTS were the short list, but then ultimately decided I really missed having a pickup truck so I sold the SUV, kept the car and got my current Tacoma. Never did drive the X5M, but it is a straight up beast on paper.

Yes I still have the ‘18 x5m. Best all around vehicle I’ve ever had. Keep getting rid of them then go back and end up with another one 2166E183-90BB-4B44-AAD7-4023D56B5677.jpg

I have the same issue. I’m 41 and have had over 25 different cars or trucks and 9 motorcycles in my 25 years of driving. I’ve spent a lot of money on them that could’ve been invested more wisely. But I look at it like this... I love automobile and enjoy being in a new vehicle and experiencing the new tech and performance that cars offer. I don’t spend on travel or have any vices. I just spend on cars and bikes. But I’d be WELL ahead if I put all the money I’ve spent on ‘negative equity’ and at the license bureau getting tags into a retirement account.

I bounce back and forth between having a car or a truck. If I have a car for a year or so then I want a truck and vice versa. But the best car I ever had was a 2003 Honda Accord V6 coupe. That car was a great car. Put over 100k on that car in seven years which is by far the longest I’ve had a car.

Ive had my ‘18 Tacoma for just under a year and am already getting tired of it.

Had a few vehicles too between my husband and I (from 2008-2018):

    95- Ford ranger step side
    05- Ford ranger step side
    03- Kia Sportage
    05- Mitsubishi Lancer OZ
    12- Saburu Impreza
    14- Mazda 3
    15- Ford F150
16- Mazda CX5 (lasted 4months and got rid of it)
12- GMC Savana Van (set up with bed etc and travelled the west coast)
    17- Tacoma

they haven't been fancy but they got me through university and a few have been great vehicles. The 95 ranger, Lancer, and GMC Savana were some of the best vehicles I have ever owned. Never had issues and were reliable.

Tacoma has been great so far. If it was just a bit bigger in the interior I would probably never get rid of it.

For the first few years we were married my wife and I were a one car family .

The first car I could call my own was actually one my wife seemed to like more than me .

Mitsubishi Mirage (don't even remember the year). Base model no ac, manual transmission.

Had it for roughly 3 or 4 years.

    2003 Nissan Frontier: 3 years.
    2009 Jeep Wrangler 2 years
    2004 4 runner: About 2 years.
2007 FJ Cruiser:. Almost 6 years
    2018 Tacoma: 8 months
Traded it yesterday for a 2019 Rav 4.

I've at least been consistent with Toyotas a while.

The Tacoma shifting didn't bother me as much as some of the other issues . Rough ride quality, always seemed like it was bogged down, and even after the alignment the steering sucked . It seemed like it was a continual effort to keep it straight on the road .

I'm not really knocking the Tacoma just wasn't the vehicle for me .

Haha I wouldn’t imagine so. Probably just about who has the best gas mileage and how many bags of potting soil you can fit in the back

I had 3rd gen DCSB for 2 months. I hated the short bed and traded it in for a DCLB. miss the manual transmission but not as much as I hated the SB.

Before than I had 1st gen taco for 4 years (bought used with 180k miles on it) and before than had a wrx for 10 years.

In the past 13 years I've had 1 subaru for 1.5 years. A first gen tacoma and now my 3rd gen. Nothing better than a yota for long term reliability I'll never drive anything else. Maybe a Corolla in a few years for miles per gallon and to keep miles off the truck.

Yes!! Now I know there are others like me. I don't feel so alone, Lol!

I've gone through a lot of vehicles in the past and I'm surrounded by family who buys a vehicle and drives the wheels off it. Wish I didn't like new vehicles but I do. I'm fighting the urge not to trade my 18 TRD Sport - just turned a year old.
