Cow tongue tacos are my favorite, but that picture makes you wonder if it is the tongue.

Not to brag, but I've made plenty of meals that people have made arrangements to be able to come over and try. Not many ANY takers tonight.

Not just a little phallic. That last picture absolutely looks like a dong. I thought the look of the tongue was unappealing enough - then it had to morph in to a schlong.

I'm good! The tongue was pretty good. Not great, but not bad. I thought I was going to be able to get slices off of it - and I kind of did - but it ended up being much more suitable for chopping. It is a very, very rich flavor. I won't say it quite tastes like liver, but if you've had or enjoy liver, it reminded me of that experience. I love the taste of liver, but can only eat so much at a time. This is doesn't quite taste as nice as liver, but it has a consistency that bridges the gap between chopped chuck roast and liver.

Frankly, I think I cooked it spot on as far as tenderness is concerned. The tip of the tongue was far thinner than the back and ended up being kind of a lost cause. The thick of it was nice and moist and very tender. The wife thought it was really, really good.

I'm just not sure it was worth the effort of cost (time and/or money). For chopped beef, a chuck roast might be a little better or at least close enough, but for cheaper. For robust beef flavor in tacos/fajitas - just get skirt steak for the same cost. The chuck roast is a shorter cook and the skirt steak even more so. Sure, they are different tastes than the tongue - and if the tongue is your thing, by all means - but the tongue, to me, wasn't enough of a "wow" to bother much more. I'll try it again at some point, though, if for no other reason than the wife seemed to be quite a fan.

I would have tried it. I’m always open to new things if I don’t like nothing lost.

As schlong, that’s a big thing (no pun) in Latin cultures from what I understand from a friend. Tongue I got no issues, penis ya I’m not sure I could do that. Lol

Not gonna lie - I felt like a bit of a badass for nailing a beef tongue on the first try while going on a hunch .

Hell, I've had bull balls (calf fries). If I've had the berries, might as well try the twig.

I just can’t get past the thought of what it is.

Plus I just know know someone would try and serve it with a cream sauce and I would die laughing.
