Does he have his instagram handle anywhere on the truck? That usually screams coolness louder then fancy calipers.

 

Bonus points for willwood, or even more if you rep powerstop or stoptech. Better yet, paint them sun yellow like the jeep trackhawk then add the decal of your choice.

Its kind of funny to think that the only other people on the road that might judge you as being an "overlander" are probably afraid of the same judgement themselves.

 

I do have Baer rotors.

But I didn’t buy them specifically because they were Baer slotted and drilled sports rotors, that’s just what came with the Tundra Brake bundle I bought. I would’ve been happy with stock rotors.

 

I wouldve been like 'hell yeah' haha. Nothing wrong with it if you're actually doing it, I get that most of the "hate" stems from people just wanting the look without actually using the equipment, but if you're using it then there ain't nothing wrong with being proud of it. In my humble opinion

 

The guy at oriellys that was asking about my 80 series and how to find one kept saying he wanted to get into overlanding. I asked what he drove and he pointed to a reasonably new Jeep JK. I asked why he didn't set that up for it. We got cut off because a customer walked in but maybe they just don't fit the look. Seems like you should just make what you have work if its in the same catagory of vehicle.

 

It only counts if you have a film crew and manufactured obstacles

 

When 3 or 4 filthy, decked out 1st gens roll through Podunk, USA, you know the locals notice, and they know what's real and what isn't.

I see some really well equipped Jeeps every day around here, really to me it's less about the rig and more about just getting out and enjoying the outdoors. For some if us that's heavily modified 4x4s and black diamond rated trails, for others it's dirt roads to public campgrounds and then maybe hiking to the better spots. But as long a your vehicle suits your needs I won't judge....or I'll try not to, if I'm being honest haha

 

My point is the same. If it suits your needs why bother trying to fit the "look". My truck has ever been a low budget motley assortment of junk that works pretty damn decent. You don't need anything more to get started, just make it work for you. Sure I could look more overlandish with a skottle, but why the hell would I need a skottle haha
